Bad for Fed? Are you kidding? Del Potro is more than capable of beating him (and anyone) and had he not re-injured his wrist he would've had a good chance of doing so. The fact that Fed may not even have to play him is more good for him than bad. He'll enter the final fully charged while his opponent has had to get there the hard way. Sounds familiar...

Strongly desagree. No way Fed is going to lose back to back to Delpo. This match would be important for Fed to gain more confidence. Federer is improoving every match and finding his shots. Federer today played a good match with Gasquet, much better than he played with Dolgo, and much much better he played with Shwartzy.
Yes today Roger played well, but if on the other side of the net, today there was Rafa.....Rafa wouldn't have lost that BH at 5 all 15-30 on Fed's serve...just to say, of course, and to make a point.
Fed going to the final against Rafa with a WO? Not good mate, sorry. He needs that win on Delpo to be on fire day 15.

That's a pretty bold statement. And not just because I put it in bold. Here's why, you see it's happened before. Twice:

Del Potro won 09 USO then 09 WTF
Del Potro won 12 Basel, 12 WTF, then 13 Basel after that.

But now no way he's going to lose back to back?

Fed had 6 months off then won the AO. He is not going to suffer from having a single day off here.

not good, but not horrible I guess

My guess is Del Potro won’t play tomorrow....Here’s the latest.

Sigh. Life's just not fair, is it?.

First masters final in I think 4 years, and this happens...

:(

So seems like Fed will play a masters final just by beating a Schwartzmann, a Dolgopolov and a Richard Gasquet. Now I don't see anyone complaining over poor draw. Serioiusly, Fedfans turned out to be more nauseating than Djokovic ones over this year.

Any oficial news about Delpo's wrist?
This would be really bad. And bad for Fed as well. He needed this match to enter the final with his weapons tuned up.

If it's a walkover that could be good for Fed, because Nadal was pushed to 3 sets against Dimitrov, and Cilic will probably test him as well, especially if he serves well. So, Fed getting a walkover into the final would be a huge benefit for him.

So what's the latest update on Delpo, anyone? I've been getting all hyped up on this match and even booked me a table at the local sports bar for tonight....

Well it's a NB 7 PM Local time start, so probably looking at quite a few hours before we find anything out that's definitive. Obviously it's looking like Del Potro will just withdraw, but Nadal and Cilic are scheduled to play around 3:30 local time, so I'm thinking we won't find anything out that's official, until right around that time.

It happened yes. And my statement does not deny that It happened in the past. But today is a different Delpo. A player that is struggling to even get into top 20. Hardly compatable. Fed choked in USO in a match where he was not 100%, and was not able to prevail tactically. He will not make the same error again.

Time will tell. Looks like Delpo will play.

Glad Del Potro is playing. Sadly I'll probably miss half of the match. Think Federer is the safe bet though unless Del Potro is confident in his wrist.

I noticed a few people saying it was "arrogance" that Fed was doing this at the USO. Apparently they were living under a rock in September and didn't know Fed had a significant back issue.

So no, Fed will be able to actually move around the court today and play with a semblance of his real self.:)

Looking forward to this one, hopefully Del Potro is OK. The big guy is a sight to behold when he is on.

I mean those are the same people that say he loses on purpose to avoid Nadal lol.

Will Federer attacks del Porto fh again?
Well, he has to hit to his FH to open up the court.
When Rafa did BH only first set USO it didnt work out.
Federer had the right tactic, but couldnt take it due to lack of movement and back issues.
You cannot be afraid of Delpos FH when playing him.

The only key vs Delpo is to open up the court, hit deep on both wings.

Hope Delpo's okay. That is some serious resilience to still be out there thundering away after four wrist surgeries.

Hope Fed lights him up like an absolute candle. :)

I love how arrogant and disrespectful Unicron is while communicating with Megatron, "no, the point is you're a fool". Absolutely no need to behave like that, but he simply can due to his power... :D

Of course. I think he liked the fact that he could crush someone like Megatron with just a thought, and enjoy watching Megatron feeling humbled.

Well, Federer fans judge opponents only by their rank. At least that can be concluded from how they talked about Nadal's USO draw. Then I guess you will all agree that Nadal had a much tougher draw here than Federer.
On a serious note, I realize Cilic isn't more dangerous than Del Potro, doesn't matter the ranking.
