I can't believe how well Fed is reaching for and consistently getting these backhand T serves returned. Amazing stuff.

Conor is watching. Will the money be right?

The continuous pressure being administered by Federer is almost suffocating for Del Potro, the big man's courageous play and that devastating forehand is what is keeping Fed off of him, but it feels a bit like a tsunami at the moment, how long can the tower still stay standing from the tidal wave?

Federer stepping up now. Was expecting a let-down after he failed to break but here he is. At love.

2-2,delpo to serve.

Federer holding to love every time, Delpo being pushed in his service games. Only a matter of time now before the breakthrough comes.

Federer is bound to have a brainfart after all.

Something not clear here. When you become more aggressive you should do more errors. Here it is the opposite. Federer this year turned into extra aggressive mode, and yet he makes much less errors than in the past. Can anyone explain?

He's using a bigger racket which gives you a bigger 'sweet spot in the middle (to avoid shanks and inaccurate shots)
He's also playing much closer to the baseline than last year or in the years before. Rather than reacting to other shots and trying to hit offensive shots when he's out of position, playing inside means he's able to dictate and have the ball in his strike zone when he wants to unleash.
It's harder to play this way because it's you have to hit some harder shots (close to half volleys at times) but if you're hitting the ball smoothly and are controlling the play I.e. ur on the offensive rather than chasing balls, hitting the big shots is easier.

In other words, same old, same old.
Federer always seems to feel uncomfortable with NOT mixing it up. As if it’s dishonourable to do the same thing two times in a row. Maybe he even feels bad for Del Potro if he only goes to his backhand when he knows that it’s hurting him physically.

He is no Nadal who made a career out of hitting to the backhand.

What a game from Delpo! Fed didn't miss a 1st serve and still got broken. Don't know how many times that's happened but I'm guessing VERY few.

Well, it doesn't look like Delpo has any such qualms. Federer's priority should be winning and not playing nice!

LOL - And someone was saying this Federer is better than Djokovic 2015. :)
