I played with Blanka (Street Fighter 2) most often, but I don't know anything about rankings or level of playing (what does 5.0 mean?).

Final fight was platform fighting, different genre. I loved Final fight also, that along with Streets of Rage.

Yep, Final Fight, Cadillac and Dinosaurs, Captain Commando, King of Dragons...some of my favorite games from the genre.
 
That's it I guess. Shame, it could have been a better match. Still, impressive stuff from Shapovalov.
 
Edmund retired.

Shapovalov is a couple of ranking points away from the top 50. Faces Carreno-Busta in the next round.

If he beats Carreno-Busta he'll be in the top 40.

Heck yea. Some Street Fighter fans in the house. My friend in college was from Japan so he had the original Street Fighter games with all the characters and characters you don't get in the US. They even had more more moves than the US version. From the US version, my favorite character to play with were Vega, Blanka, Guile, Chun Li, Cammy, M. Bison and Fei Long.

Doesn't get any easier. PCB is your typical Spanish player. Won't beat himself so Shapo has to be sharp.

I think Carreno-Busta is the type of player which currently gives Shapovalov the biggest issues. Shapovalov is gonna have to bring it for 4-5 sets.
 
Shapo's father chooses to go on holiday whilst his son is playing in one of the biggest tournaments in the world. Disgrace. I would be there supporting him every match he plays.

That's not the true story. Shapo's dad obviously didn't foresee his son going so far in this event. Denis already said in his presser on Wednesday that if he keeps going, both his parents will come back to see him.

He is a lucky guy! I didn't know who Fei Long is (just had a look and it was a character from Super Street Fighter) and I forgot about Guile, he was one of my favs too. Honda was also an interesting character, but not as "agile" and very hard to play with.

Yea Fei Long was in the US version, and I think his first appearance was Super Street Fighter II. Basically, a carbon copy of Bruce Lee. Yea I didn't play with Honda much because he was so slow. Some characters I didn't play with or wasn't as good with like Zangief, and most people liked the Ken/Ryu due to use but I was more into the other ones. I did play with Balrog though sometimes even though he wasn't that agile either.
 
Daigo should get his own street fighter character. :cool:

Well said! Some of the best tennis of the tournament so far IMO. Really good stuff. Hope both of them keep improving :)
