Sharapovas agent, have just said that she will be ready to compete in Honkong Exibition Tournament and definitly she'll defend the Australian Open crown. Sharapova is recovering from an injury (right shoulder) that apeared after winning thriller, 3h struggle, match. In this match she was strugglin' with her serve badly ansd have made 17 double faults.

I hope Sharapova will apear in season 2009 with the same game hunger in which she was during the first part of season 2008 - including Australian Open, Fed Cup's, Indian Wells.

If she would lost durin' couple of first rounds at AO maybe. But I think that even if her game won't be so good as at the beginnin' of 2008 she will reach at least QF, or SF hopefuly cause she will be seaded.


By the way... Someone was jokin' that hi/her miss Sharapovas variety of shots. Well, you don't have to be an all-courter or so to be on the top. I think that Sharapova's (comperin' to the rest of WTA) shots are even more multifarious than Nadal's, Blake's or Davidienko's compared to the rest of ATP.
During this years French Open Sharapova was using dropshots (pretty often) and angles with good efects and that proves that she is trying to improve variety of her shots.
