Today I decided to not cut anything, here's a full match condensed, all dead time has been trimmed out. I have a slow start (in the black/white) but end up pretty satisfied with my performance as a whole. In the first set I start down 1/3, then rattle off 5 games in a row. I needed a long time to close out the last game but I think I did it in style lol. Guy didn't say a word to me after the match, didn't seem angry at me, just clearly mad at himself to the point he couldn't even bother with any further small talk lol.

Haven't seen anyone decked and complete with racquet of all adidas...since Ivan Lendl! ❤️ the commitment to the brand
Haha most of the clothes I got back in school since Adidas was their sporting wears supplier so I could get stuff cheap. I got plenty of other brands too but sometimes I like to go dressed to the nines in Adidas kit.

Monika>Robert, it's funny how those guys started growing in number waiting for the match to end. Against robert, that white door, ugh, that would drive me nuts in the background. You don't really think you are a pusher do you? Just a clever title I assume?
Hello,

Please see my new video below, and write your opinion on my game, I am curious if you can see the difference between tournament and match :)

Played against an opponent that I hadn't played in 2 years. Funny thing is, both of us switched up our backhands since the last time we played. I went from a 2HBH to a 1, and he went from a 1HBH to a 2! The end result was the same. Here's the entire match condensed.

Can I Improve My Tennis Footwork ? Full Workout + Warm Up

Hello guys, please check out my tennis workout. Do you have any other tips for exercises that can help improve my footwork?

Some college guys I know practicing some serving and returning. The guy in grey is a 7 UTR and Black Shirt is a 9
Interesting to see the two when hitting crosscourt.

The UTR 9 guy seems to be more relaxed, gets in position earlier, unit-turn earlier and is more balanced and he is less often rushed. The UTR 7 guy seems to be trying to hit harder and is less consistent.

Here's another full match condensed. It might not show on video, but it was very hot and humid in the building today. It definitely affected my nerves for a bit when things started going south, luckily I got things back under control and won in style lol. I did have a ton of 'right on the line' balls today as well.

I'm in the red shirt
racket: Adidas Barricade

Nice game. Good all court play by your opponent. You would have lost if he knew how to volley! Please teach him to commit and punch the ball, rather than floating it!

Hello,
I would like to know your opinion on my coaching. Did I do well? Or did I forget to mention something important to my tennis beginner friend?

Thank you for your opinion

Getting back to court and focusing on singles more. Still some niggling things, but having some fun and being competitive for where I am at now. Got a buddy out Friday morning and here are some good/not-so-good points.

Weather is heating up in AZ though and already in the mid 90's before it gets hot here.

PRO Junior Girl vs Male Amateur

Takes some guts. I may hit with a 12 year old junior pro girl. Maybe even play a set. But I damn sure wouldn't record myself playing a 12 year old junior pro girl. And then post it online.. Kudos?

That court looks great.

You have a funky backhand stroke and your serve is a little whack. Did you grow up playing sports?

Been a while everyone! My rehab and recovery has been going steady. Recently took off the boot and walking on both feet! I'm now going around helping my team by stringing, video and photo!

Enjoy this recently uploaded video.

Not the best tennis since I'm trying to get back into shape as evidenced by the poor footwork & lazy preparation at times. First time recording myself playing too but now I know what to work on this weekend. Also first YouTube video!

It's a full match, USTA 3.5 doubles in NY. Honestly, I'm not sure if this is what 3.5 is supposed to look like but the quality definitely left a bit to be desired. I'm going to chalk it up to it being late on a work night haha.

Feedback welcome!

Maybe chip in to buy the guy in the light blue shirt a short with pockets? I would call a let every time he tosses his 2nd ball behind him when he makes his 1st serve.

It was super annoying, I'm not going to lie. The first point he served, I almost called a let since I saw the ball rolling.

I'm a pretty non confrontational person so just let it slide but definitely super annoying. I'm surprised he's gotten away with it. It was my first USTA League match ever so I didn't know what the etiquette is like and didn't want to cause a scene. Same guy also showed up like 20 mins late. We almost asked for a default but again just let it slide.

On my level i also let this sort of stuff slide, but i would make a (in a fun way) comment that they sell shorts with pockets nowadays. Or he could use a ballclip on his back like the ladies used back in the day ;)

Lol if we hit again I will definitely mention it. Idk if you saw but in the first point on his serve. I was a little bit caught off guard haha.

I'm not too pressed about USTA results and just want to get a hit in so didn't say stuff but 100% agree with you. It would've been good for me to say something after the match.

Has to feel great to have the boot off. I know for me, in throws of an injury it just feels like it will never end, or can't end quick enough. Enjoy a bit more freedom, keep working to build back. Cheers.

Just worry about playing the best ya can and the ratings will come (some caveats there, but mostly always true). Some good things to build on for all players, but mostly consistency and putting balls in play. That just takes more time on court, so keep practicing, playing and improving.

And yeah....one of my biggest problems in playing leagues was getting up at like 4am, working a whole day and staying after instead of driving home to be closer to a far away match that didn't even start until 8pm. And how much motivation am I supposed to have at that point? I know I get some abysmal effort in the past just to be done and go home. I think we have all been there.

100%. I'm trying to keep myself hyped up for matches since I'm inherently a competitive person. If not through tennis, I'd be gaming haha. Luckily my partner was a pretty outspoken person and I think my next partner for my next doubles match is as well so hopefully we can get a good cop, bad cop thing going if we really need to.

I'm really enjoying it though and it's forcing me to play more often which is always a great thing. It can very easy especially in NYC to not play regularly since court time is hard to secure but Leagues has been good in terms of playing at least once or twice a week.

What led you to the Bubba and why didn't you finish with "rocking the hanes tshirt!" . I would say you are really skilled with that bubba, using it in ways I've never seen a Bubba be used
You know, I really should have. I think I came straight from work I just took off my uniform and that's all I had left

Regarding the Bubba, back when Covid first hit, I was bored at home and I've always seen that racket on Tennis Warehouse's website and so I said what the heck and bought one just because I've always wanted to try it out. I liked it but it felt a little bit too late for me being around 10 ounces or so. I then added a bunch of weight to the handle and liked it enough to use it for a few years when I played division three college. It's now my main racket of choice and I really like it because it has a huge sweet spot, it's super long, and I can get a lot of power and spin from it. It's definitely uncontrollable at times but it definitely allows you to be a little lazy and not have to focus on swinging on every shot. Have you ever used it before?

I have never used one, would be interesting.

I played a guy a few years ago who did this. I actually called him out on it and he got super salty about it and stayed that way for the rest of the match. I actually felt sort of bad about it. But it was distracting.

My pickleball friend, who plays professionally, playing in our league team match. I'm thankful that he still continues to play both as he's good in both sports. Although I wasn't able to post the usual format (it got corrupted somehow even after exporting) but here's a highlight of all winners and aces if you guys are into that.

This might be the first non-USTA match I've covered but on top of a new unofficial (?) matches, I recently picked up photography and thinking about starting a business with it. I've created a website but before I felt comfortable, you'll start seeing me take practice shots and record my view on the court from the sideline which provides a more unique point of view.

First time coming to a Gladiators match. My friend plays singles in it almost multiple times a week. Gladiators is a singles league that's separate from the USTA but each match results counts towards their UTR ratings. Their NTRP system is slightly different from USTA's NTRP system. As you can see in the video title, it's between a 4.5-5.0 NTRP rating. I've stepped up my photography with a new camera body and lens. Along with shooting with iPhone mounted on top of it, I thought it would be interesting to present to you a tennis match from a different angle.

2 uploads for me. Kind of older matches. The one at the Columbia courts is older & the practice match at NTC is a bit more recent. Have played one more match since then but unfortunately video isn't the best. Realizing that I have a tendency to double fault at high pressure moments/slow down my RHS and also that I get very tentative & need to move my feet more when compared to just hitting around. Been trying to get back into match play after a 9 year or so break (since HS) so definitely a lot of learning to do.
