Thank you all for posting these videos. It is true - Hawaii really is bad at sandbagging :(
I don’t know if that was directed at my video but both of us are “C” rated and I assure you that 3.5 isn’t a level where we would throw games because we want to stay there forever. Both of us are having good years and might get bumped, especially my teammate, but we generally have competitive matches in our 3.5 league. And at the end of the day that’s the definition of being a 3.5.

First time video poster, so be gentle but feedback is welcome!
Solid 3.5 play I would say, and consistency might get you bumped. Strokes looks like they have good power and variety. I would focus on positioning (strategy) and footwork. You have a very misplaced split step on the serve and rarely split during points. That alone might help you to be more ready to move in some of the situations I see in the video. But really, keep getting matches in to bump up. Cheers. Thanks for posting.

Hi, sorry, it was not for you or any one video in particular. I thought all the videos in this thread were pretty consistent and gave me a better idea of what 3.0 through 4.0 should look like. I just wish things were more honest here. It's really ruining the experience.

You guys definitely look like legitimate 3.5s from what I see on video.

Here is my first T2 3.5- match of the season. This was my first singles match in about 6 months after taking some time off for a shoulder injury. As expected, my fitness level was lacking, but got the job done in the end.

I haven’t been able to play as much but I finally was able to get out and play some doubles but in windy conditions! I finally got my second vaccine shot so now I can go out (Still responsibly, of course) and hit again!

This isn't my match video. I came across it looking for tennis videos in my hometown. I have played with some of them though.

It would definitely take a lot for me to tune out all the grunting:

Thank!! Im gonna try to volley more and sabr if it works lol. Iv been trying to split step before they serve and it’s throwing off my return

I think sometimes you may be split stepping a bit early and you are landing on your heels then waiting. I think it is better if you split step late (as opposed to early) so you can land the foot you are driving off of after you realize which way your are going. But in any case I think you should land on and stay on your toes until you know which direction you will run.

I should probably video my own game to see what I am doing as well. I don't think I am getting as much out of my split step as I should and I am sure there are many other issues with my game.

For those interested, I am preparing to play in a doubles tournament soon! Practiced with some 4.5+ players and got decently competititve!
