Shelby Rogers and Emma Raducanu racquet- Wilson Blade V7?

Watching the US open today. Anybody know the details/specs on Rogers or Raducanu racquets? They both look like Wilson Blade V7 but I know others on this platform can provide more details.

I know, just saying in a nice way that the guy you replied to is completely clueless as shown many many times
But he has to expose and embarrass himself with every post…

Ya for sure. I mean to the naked eyes there's no way that looks like a blade 104. Even without closer up pics a 104 would look bigger relative to Raducanu.

New players going to a Steam... I know some stayed with it (Halep + Svitolina 99, Martic 100) but she's too young. I've seen her with a Clash (not only a PJ) last year and with a 16x19 Blade (which looked like a real Blade) before. Holic?

Does Wilson provide these old frames to new tour players they sponsor ? The Wilson Steam was around 2012-15? I am just curious if a newer pro selects an old frame like this , they must have some supply from the company.

once again alexh22 proves to the forum that he really has no clue.

yes mate she uses a steam 100.
The white throat piece grommet is a dead giveaway.
Same racket used by Svilotina and Martic!
I dont think so. Its a 16x20 stringpattern. and it does not look very thick beamed either. more blade like..and what about her STRINGS? i mean the strings of her racquet.

Like most WTA Tour woman’s who endorse the V7/V8, use the Steam. The actual racquet is the Wilson 100 Pro Stock Steam! Has a glossy sheen on the frame. Because of her now instantaneous fame, she probably has her own Wilson racquet rep that is assigned to her like the top 20 ranked Wilson endorsed players. Emma going move a lot of V7/V8s for Wilson!

This is not (currently) the case. I have been party to the person who helped with the customisation program she went through to get her racquets where they are now. He is a good friend of mine, and is in the UK; and has done the work in connection with Wilson in the UK.

I can’t believe Wilson does paint job racquets for its pros from models that you can no longer buy. After reading many of Alex’s posts I thought Head was the only one doing this.

Name a major brand that doesnt do this

Pros always want to play with the racquets they used as juniors. So, they end up with pro stock or customized versions of obsolete racquets that can’t be bought in retail anymore. There’s no big secret to why they all seem to want to play with old racquet models. The 2025-2030 generation will want to play with today‘s off-the-shelf racquets which won’t be available then.

Are you saying it is the Blade101L tour racket?
It is confusing because Blade101L on Wilson website is listed as 16x19 but I can find the specs of the “tour” as 16 x 20 on a global competitors website.
Is there a way to distinguish a Steam 100 16x20 vs the Blade101L tour 16x20?

Emma's win was good for Wilson. oh well, I wish Wilson would just bring back older racquets like the steam 100 (or ktour 95) then. Maybe a lot of new and prospective female players will want to play with lookalikes. With Fed's era seeming over, I'd hope they stop pushing the rf97 , and bring back some of the older models as reissues like the 17-18mm beam ps90's , or bring back a bunch of 95's. Tired of Wilson's limited lineup compare to Prince's more varied beams in their racquets.

That's if the specs are listed correctly. It probably will be correct but it depends sometimes on the company that lists it. It's not totally unheard of and I've seen it multiple times. Usually just a minor detail and sometimes they will be correct in another part of the listing.

If you have them both in person you could easily tell. The Blade 101L Tour is standard length while the Steam 100 is usually 27.25 inches. Also the throat of the Blade just above the handle might be slightly narrower. Assuming Raducanu doesn't have a custom string pattern or length, she will have the extended Steam 100.

I feel slightly better now getting a pro stock Steam 100 for cheap. I don't like how it plays. Feels wayy stiffer than 65. But it looks nice.

It is not a Blade 101L. She tried that but didn’t like it. It is a Steam 100 mould, customised to her individual preferences. 16x20 pattern.

Just to add here, we tested a bunch of frames with her at the time. She was not aware what the frames were historically, so did not ask for the Steam as it were. They were all frames in current pj’s in the ballpark, weight wise, of what she had used up the point. She is on an international Wilson contract (before the US) so has access to more frames from Wilson’s cupboard so to speak ;)

Interesting insight into the racquet selection process!
