Shelton is going to reach USO 2025 final

Djumhur

Semi-Pro
With the home crowd he is going to beat that Alcaraz in the QF who already had very close win against Shelton at RG. In that RG match Shelton chocked the 1st set and still was able to win another set. Shelton was close to beating him on his best surface. At USO Shelton will have best conditions. I also believe he will beat Djokovic this time. Djokovic is not the same as he was 2 years ago when he beat Shelton. Also Shelton improved a lot. The final will be Shelton vs Sinner. Sinner will in 3 or 4 but all sets will be close

Shelton isn't close at all to beating Alcaraz yet. But I do agree Sehtlon will get to the QF. He'll be lucky because Alcaraz may have already lost by that round.
you must have missed their RG match. It was an even match with Shelton not being able to handle the pressure in the first set when he had set points.

Shelton is reaching QFs comfortably this year. There is 0 reason to think he wont do it at USO with the home crowd
heres 1 reason he lost to tiafoe last yr in the 4th round. 2023 was the semifinal run. heres a second reason, hes not an absolute lock in every single draw.
expectations work both ways, can be easy when no one expects anything out of you. if you’re thinking hes a lock i guess we’ll see if he can handle that home country pressure

I think he may pay an Alcaraz tax and lose to Fritz or Tiafoe in semis. Which will be a shame as Shelton v Sinner final would be epic.

Djokovic obviously lucked out in the QF, but he has a decent R1, R3 and R4 opposition. Again lucky to avoid Sinner in SF, but let us see what he has got.

Novak will reach R3 like last year and will lose unexpectedly to R4 opponent.
If he take it as a last SLAM he is playing then until he faces Sinner alcaraz. If he goes all out and his body holds up then he is good enough .

I can't see it. I think his BH is still a liability, when facing players that can handle his loopy Rafaesque CC banana FH to reset the point - AND bring the heat from both wings.

Nobody is good enough to beat Alcaraz at the US Open, and i guess you are expecting Medvedev to do it :-D
Opelka's only asset is power, but Alcaraz has more power than Opelka.
Medvedev's only assets are court craft and retrieving, but Alcaraz has more court craft and more foot-speed...

That's always been the case with second tier players against ATG's throughout history. They play close but when it comes to the important points they lose most of them. How many times did we see a Big 3 guy go 4-4 or 5-5 against a lower tier top 10 player then get a late set break or win in a tiebreak? It happened a lot. Same here applies,Shelton is capable of beating the top guys based on talent but there's a reason why the top guys are where they are and the second tier guys are second tier guys, I wouldn't bank on it in other words.

for sure, we tennis players know injuries are the worst.
last yr he had all of those shoulder suction cup marks…end of the season shoulder could be worn out
As long as her over trains his arms then he'll continue to perform well in a game that requires running
