Shelton will beat Sinner

If Sinner serves and hits FH as horrendously as he did yesterday, then Shelton will win in straights. If Sinner fixed those issues, then it’s Sinner in 4.

Sinner looked injured yesteday. He might not have been. But he played like a player with an injury. His FH was the worst that it’s been in 3+ years.

but, but he has never done this before, ....ever in a slam. Let alone beat two of them in a row. Never even made a slam final.
This forum has some of the most incredible hyperbolic player marketers. , not necessarily the OP.

That said, he or she has a point. Because Shelton has improved a lot in the last year from what I've seen in every area. Sure he can beat an injured Sinner and maybe an off-day Djokovic in the SF's. And if Carlos is off, which we know he can be at times. Ben could pull it off.
The icing would be bringing a prop, an old red landline telephone in his bag and fake calling someone after match point.
To be fair watching Alcaraz now he looks a lock now as he is clearly playing so within himself with many more gears to go to

I have watched Shelton plenty. And while he has improved, Sinner can totally read his serve. Plus Shelton's backhand is suspect too.
If Sinner is healthy, he's going to wipe the floor with Ben.
Last year was close !!! Shelton better than last year. That said watching Alcaraz now he looks a lock now the weather hot.

I think Sinner should give him a walkover with his bad elbow. Otherwise, it gets worse and he loses.
OR if he wins, he has to play Djokovic which gives Djoker confidence. Maybe he wins that but still has to play dominant Carlos and loses to him again in a final.
It's a no win situation.

Elbow will be fine. I've got same issue at moment from a similar bang on the arm, it shouldn't affect him at all.

Shelton has been experimenting with his setup and added a lot of mass to his recently racquet, which in turned has changed his playing style. He’s less error prone than in the past.

I don’t know if it will be enough to beat Sinner this Wimbledon, but I’ll be rooting for him.
interesting. heavier racket always a good idea, will help returns, slice, net game. beating sinner is a tall order ubt fun match.

Shelton winning Wimbledon?

Honestly, the only reason I’m against it is because the kid would become absolutely unbearable with vanity if he actually pulled it off.
Your reasoning is very strange. If Shelton is winning wimbeldon than Vanity or no vanity he deserves some praise.

I'm a big Sinner fan and thought he would win W. But Grigor highlighted Sinners vulnerability on grass which is facing variety and someone who can use the angles and has a great slice.

Shelton can do all of what Grigor does just bigger. His slice BH is very good albeit not as good as Grigors bit still top draw and his FH spits venom and he can create Nadalesque angles with it. We know about the serve. Shelton also can volley very well. He is still very raw but his improvements are coming at a pace as we saw in Paris v Alcaraz for two sets.

I've said it from the start that Shelton could be the guy to take Sinner down and after today I'm sure of it shelton will not choke on Centre Court like so many 1st timers do, he will rise to the occasion. And folks he will give Djokovic trouble as well in the semis.

If there is a guy on tour who could do the seemingly impossible and beat back to back to back Sinner Djokovic and Alcaraz it's Ben Shelton if he gets on a roll. At times today v Sonego he was unplayable, the tie break especially.

lol Sinnwr would beat him with no arm

Shelton will win if Sinner falls and hurts both wrists and head

Mentally Shelton needs another 2-5 years to find better focus or
string more games together against those that bring the heat.

He does not have that cool killer instinct just still a flashy kid
that misses too much kamikaze-like and swinging an ezone
is not as accurate as a VC specially for spin modulation.

Has Sinner had a ‘Big’ win on grass yet in his career? What’s his biggest win so far? Who is the best he has beaten?
The only real candidates are:
  1. Alcaraz back in 2022 (only 19, not yet a slam winner, in his second grass tournament ever)
  2. Hurkacz in the Halle final (his only other top-ten win on the surface)
  3. Berrettini in the second round last year (past his best but still capable of some impressive stuff on the surface)

Frtiz serving like he did vs Khachanov was decent
I think SinRaz are trying to go servebot mode to
make the difference but personally I would have
like to have seen Mensik or GMP serve better but
its seems those with a good slice can make the
taller men look like Oafy Bobos. Cob vs Struff
was an example of how slicing works as well
just as Grigolo did with Jannik.

I got over the Shelton ancient phone celebration over his friend Tiafoe
even though he probably never used a land line.

What I cant stand is hoping for him to win only to watch thrown away
points like he does in the hope one goes in and then he can celebrate
and forget about the rest of the match for the moment.

Its like winning battles is deeply programmed as he forgets the war
is more important than his need for college cheering dopamine.

That being said would like him to hit 70+ aces as 50 is not enough
as I always recall Agassi beat Pim Pim even after eating 51 aces.

Shelton cannot keep the ball in between the lines enough. If it was another player who could stress Sinner’s elbow and make him hit a lot of shots then maybe. Shelton will make 80 UEs as per usual bc he sucks at handling weighty shots. His timing is poor
Yep I called it.

Shelton will never win anything until he learns how to actually time the ball. His shot tolerance is genuinely laughable

He does not understand the strategy of tennis. Just want to make big shots and roar, earcup all the way. WWE Tennis

What a delusional prediction. Almost as delusion as the people who really think Djokovic is beating Sinner in the semis here.
How many believed Charlie would clobber Novak at '24 Paris? Yeah, I believed so too!

Of all people, Novak has the slightest chance of making that miracle happen again! If that happens, he'll come up limping into the next match, like '25 AO!
