Shoes like the Solution Speed 2 for insoles?

Hey,

I used the Asics Solution Speed 2 shoes for two years, but they are finally not wearable anymore.
They fit just perfectly, which isn't a given, because I use orthopedic insoles.

So...are there shoes which fit just like the Speed 2s?

I ordered a Speed 3, but they are too narrow (Why the heck did Asics chance the width of the shoe??? It was a very successful shoe...).

Thank you very much!

same problem for me, loved the ss2 and couldn´t stand the narrowness of the ss3.
i tried the nb996 v3 (with omni sole, komme auch aus deutschland und brauche deshalb auch immer nur sandplatzschuhe), the resolution 7 and the ubersonic 2.
all 3 had a good fit with no heel slipage, but the ubersonic 2 and the nb996 v3 had the best heel lockdown.
my recommendation would be to try the nb996v3 since the are roomy enough to allow the usage of insoles, have a similar but slightly wider fit than the ss2 and a good heel lockdown.
what size are you wearing?

Hey, thank you very much.
I actually never considered the nb996v3, but will definitely have a look.
The Ubersonics look like they could fit the bill.
I wanted to avoid ordering like five pairs snd return four of them, but that's probably the only chance.

My size is 42 (US 8.5) in Asics and Nikes.
Not sure about other brands.

Edit: Wow the New Balance shoes seem to be very heavy! 15.2 ounces for a size 10.5.

So they aren't an option, sadly.

so the nb are out. its always good to narrow the options down.
for what its worth:
my size in the ss2 was 44,5, in the resolution 7 i would have needed at least size 45 (because the upper is not very flexible) and in the ubersonic 2 the size 45 1I3 was ok.

I had the chance to try a few ones in our local store.
I thought I wouldn't get the chance to go to that store, but things went differently and I could try many shoes.

Adidas: completely out, the whole brand. They offer too much support for supinating feet. I don't want any support besides the support my insoles provide, so Adidas won't fit the bill.
Asics Resolution 6 and 7:

42 was horrible, even worse than the SS3.

42.5 was somewhat okay, but still not convincing. The SS3 was better.

Nike Vapor 9.5:

I loved my Zoom Breathe 2k10 back in the day, but my insoles didn't fit into the Vapors.

Maybe I need to try Ballistecs or Cages?

I'm even more frustrated now...Should have bought a couple of SS2 when I had the chance.

Does somebody have Kswiss Hypercourt Express or Adidas Defiant Bounce?
Those seem a bit wider, but I can't try them in a store, so I'd be interested in their suitability for insoles and the fit compared to Asics SS2.

Thanks!
