Shorter Shorts/Nike Shorts

Hi guys,

I have a few question for you guys. I'm looking for some more traditional fitting shorts in terms of length and was wondering about the fit of the "Nike Men's New Basic 7" Pull On Short"?

The biggest problem I have with Nike shorts is the fit can occasionally be too snug. My waist is 30-31 and Nike shorts medium are occasionally too tight while the large are just sloppy. Anyone have any advice about the fit of these shorts or can recommend some shorter length shorts?

Kind regards,
Chopin

Traditional as in how short? Just look at the inseam it isn't hard to figure out even from the pictures. 7" is very very short. 10" is like Federer's just above the knee.

Definitely above the knees. I was just looking for suggestions since the Nike shorts often don't fit me right (too snug in medium) and too big in large.

Nah dude. Get some long shorts, then you can be cool like Rafa Nadal.

If you think 7" inseams are "very very short", then what do you call the 1" or 2" inseam shorts that EVERYBODY wore for decades? Yes, you would wear them too if you played tennis in the 70's, 80's or 90's.

I call those diaper shorts.

Shorter shorts are cool! Just like Agassi and Safin used to wear.

Andre and Safin have no sense of style.

I die from laughing every time I see these pictures.

Shorter shorts will probably come back in style anyways. The more fitted shirts are already back in (Federer). Besides, a lot of the posters here don't even know short shorts. Murray does not wear the long shorts.

I call those something nobody would ever wear anymore. Why do you insist on clinging to the past?

Does anyone have any recommendations for quality shorter shorts? Is the Fila stuff nice? How about Wilson apparel?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I'd hope guys wouldn't wears them. They look good on girls but guys should stay away from diaper shorts.

Depends on your height.

I'm 5'7'' and I prefer 9'' because they're just above the knee for me.

You might need longer, I don't know.

I'm thinking about selling my Adidas shorts because they're way too long.

My waist (where I wear low rise jeans) is 34 and I can wear pretty much M or L on the Nike shorts.

I love how my thread has become a debate about what's fashionable. Sigh.

I'm just looking for some specific short recommendations that I can order from TW that are just above the knees and of nice quality.

It depends on how tall you are. If you are taller and have longer legs you should probably get a pair of longer shorts, I would recommend Roger's dri-fit shorts. I've tried them on before and they end just above my knees. They are comfortable.

Didn't you know that history always repeats itself? Especially when it comes to fashion? Even flare leg jeans from the 70's have come back in this decade. :)

Nike men's 7" Anytime shorts. Available here in the liquidation section for $25.00.

I had a pair of these a few years back and hated them because they were too short...

What did you think of the quality and fit of them? Did they run true to size?

they are nice they do not feel like basketball shorts they are more of a knit feel. It depends what you mean true to size because in reebok shorts im a small and in fila and adidas shorts im a medium so

I have a pair of the anytime shorts actually. They're basically the length I'm looking for. I'm not crazy about the actual shorts though.
