Should Djokovic skip the masters for USO..

I'm sort of assuming Nole and Murray are out for Montreal, Cincy, and US Open. If the injuries are overstated, then skip Montreal and show up in Cincy in three weeks or whatever.

He should pull a Fed, sit out the rest of the year, get back into the physical shape he was in 2 years ago. And dump that idiot flower child of a coach Pepe, work with Agassi, or go back to his old coach that was the real reason for his success.

has anyone heard anything about murray? i feel like there has been way more talk about novak, understandably so, and what his schedule might be like due to the elbow injury. however murray seemed way more vague about his and he was able to stick around to the end, so hoping its something manageable? i'd def like to see him compete at the USO. i feel like he deserves a few more slams, at the very least another hc one

I don't think Fed is such a shoe-in for the USO because it has the most neutral surface and court conditions of the slams. If any of the other players have a shot at him, it'll be at the USO.
yeah, i do think the USO could be an open slam. it really depends on the tune up tournaments. oddly enough during the first week a lot of people were saying fed had better chances to win the USO than he had wimbledon and well we know what happened. but ia in general, hopefully the players that had injuries during wimbledon will be in much better shape and there is always some new motivation during the summer hc season so i do expect a lot of the players to make it an interesting tournament.

Bump. @RF-18 and @Hitman

He's 35 points away from reclaiming his title. ;) Never doubted it for a minute.

He most likely skips the USO swing and maybe the rest of the year. When he comes back healthy, order will most likely be restored. I still think he is the best tennis player in the world at his best and he has proven that to me over and over. It's time for him to get healthy, fit and bring high level tennis back to the main stage. Tennis sure as hell needs it at this point in time.
Djokovic is a "street fighter" like Boris Becker calls him and anybody saying he is done is delusional. Pay no attention to that nonsense. He will not only go back to #1 but he will win more Slams. How many...I don't know.

Magnificent scenes these past few months. No matter what happens, no one will ever doubt Novak's heart and his absolute will to win anymore.
I hate rubbing it in the doubters faces...who am I kidding? I love it! :D Yea these past 3 months have blown my mind. I just didn't expect it to happen so suddenly. It's like he went from terrible to excellent overnight. I thought it would be more gradual.

Form is temporary. Class is forever.

Djokovic is no normal player, and many have said that his absolute highest level is the highest level of tennis they personally have seen. I was listening to Peter Fleming saying just that, that even though Federer and Nadal are greater, when all play their absolute highest level, Djokovic is the best level ever seen.

You are spot on there.

I've heard quite a few say that his level is the highest, especially around 2015-2016 when he was on that dominant run. He really showed why he is a special type of player with his turnaround this year. Only a true legend can do what he has done. If gets that YE #1, he will set another record.

Fair play to you never doubting your guy. I can’t remember what I predicted but it’s silly to write off these champions when we’ve seen Fedal come back many times too.

I never wrote any of them off because I knew that all it would take was one spark and a few things to go their way, and they could go on a tear.

Full fitness is the #1 priority right now. Fix all of the issues there, no matter how many months it takes, and when that's done, go out there and boss them all once again.
I am sure Novak will win a couple more Slams at least. He seems to be over that I lost motivation to play tennis phase, and once he is fully fit, he will be extremely dangerous to everybody, even if the new generations stop disappointing. I am really looking forward to watching him when he gets back to full health, it's going to be amazing, because of him and because the last year or so of tennis has missed him badly.

I do hope he is in good health right now.

I needed a break from my brain-wrecking task so checked NoleFam's post history, after all, what better way is there to spend one's time!

He had a break in the earlier months of 2017 and 2018 which coincided with the culminations of the Australian Open but was actually around for most of 2017 and now most of 2018.

I conclude that Federer winning the AO sent him into a serious tailspin and he spent several weeks, even months, crying into his pillow.

No not really.

The conclusion is that he's been here plenty and enjoys post-AO vacations.

No I cried myself to sleep every night after Federer won the AO. I even had to place myself into a mental hospital to deal with utter dissatisfaction that that win had on me. Lol! :D I usually take a break after AO every year it seems (varies in timeframe) but I don't plan my breaks from the forum. Sometimes I have a lot going on in my everyday life at the time.

Yeh like you I take 3-4 month breaks from this place on the regular, maybe with the odd random post thrown in.

I've obviously noticed and had numerous exchanges with NoleFam before Djokovic won Wimbledon, so he is really not a coward of that sort (or any other I guess, I don't know you outside of this place man LOL).

If I called someone out on a wrong prediction, it wouldn't be Martin because he has always had that tone of giving his honest opinion on the subject with no fanboyism involved, unlike the trolls who exaggerate everything and like to provoke others into reaction. Digging up those guys' posts is gold.

To sum it up, I am surprised the two of you ended up having an argument as I see you both as more than decent fans of your players and tennis in general.

I don't know what's his deal. Never had an issue with him until lately and he was on my shortlist of really good Federer fans. That probably changed today (lol) but I don't know why he is so upset. I never even bumped his posts. I just reminded him yesterday of his previous predictions after he was predicting that Djokovic's level would drop. We even ended the conversation on good terms or so I thought, but I don't have time to babysit or be swayed not to celebrate the resurgence of Novak.

Well seems like you triggered something in him yesterday.

Anyway, I remember you being here in the clay season. You were here long before he won Wimbledon.

And Taking breaks is completely fine and I don't even know why people care when someone is gone.

It seems that way but I don't care if I did really. I wasn't disrespectful to him or did anything to him to cause that reaction.

Yea I was here during the clay season and at least two months before the Wimbledon win. I take breaks all the time but somehow the new mantra is that Djokovic fans run away from the forum when he is not doing well. Go figure.

Wow. A lot of deleted posts from this thread now.

@NoleFam MartinJ deleted his account. Convenient timing, no? Why would a tiny argument hasten such an action? This was nothing for anyone to be that upset about.

Will miss his posts.

He was a good poster. He did good here. It was unusual to see him go off as he did today though. Doesn't matter anyway, you fight sometimes, it's normal.

I hope he comes back.

He should just ask for his username to be reinstated and forget the whole debacle. Hope he's reading this.

Anyway I'll leave it there but yes I share your sentiments.

Another victim of the human weapon of mass salt dispersion, Novak Djokovic.

Thoughts and Prayers homie.
You cant blame him.Djokovic resurgence caught a lot of people by surprise.I mean he was losing to Cecchinato in May - who would have expected he would have multi Slam season this year.Btw I remember in early 2018 some Djokovic fans complaining that old thread were being bumped to mock Djokovic and ironically Djokovic fans are doing the same thing now

Multi slam def not. But I don't think that many fans (even Fedal) fans thought he was done. Only 30-31 with his talent and his drive was clearly back by the end of 2017. Bouncing back to top 3 was pretty much inevitable.

Yea someone told me in a PM message about it. I have no idea why he was so upset today or why he deleted his account. It was not that big of a deal and nothing that wouldn't blow over. I used to hold him in really high regard so the whole situation is confusing to me.

Yea it appears so and it shouldn't have resulted in this. Maybe he will come back. I'm more than willing to talk it out privately and figure out what he think I did wrong. I don't know where zagor is these days but maybe he's taking a break. Good poster though.
