Time to bring back that thread
oh my god getting really tired of ppl saying this.
If u play a couple of bad games do u retire NO so sit down and shut up!
By all means Yes-- of course he should!
And he should set up a fund for counseling services for TW posters who don't have a life and need to post such nonsense. The fund should include money for psychotropic medications, anti-depressants and medical necessities including viagra.
Well if he does then sampras is still above him so sure retire. but i agree with Nick b this is getting old fast. roger is still gonna win wimbledon just like nadal is gonna win the french
Yeah, I think Federer will win Wimbledon again but I think it will be harder
than previous 4 wins.
His biggest challenge has been Roddick. But I think he will face trickier
problems than Roddick from this year and on.
It won't be as easy as before... definitely..
we all agree he should retire.
Michael Stich could beat him handily.
He'll probably announce it soon.
I wish Tiger Woods would retire as well.
Definitely - he has no chance - he is a failiure... I mean beaten 4 times in a row... and by some guy whose name he can't even say! Stupid - can he not see that this is the ideal time for him to just give up wasting his time trying to be something he's not....
I hope you all realise that this is a joke
Why are we even wasting our time answering such a dumb Question. I will not write more.
My thoughts exactly.
the real question here is : should you retire
DEE DEE DEE
Federer can enjoy a comfortable life in his retirement. He has made enough money for generations. He and Mirka can settle down and have kids. Few years later, he can be back on the senior tour and playing exos without the pressure.
nope, he'll stay and destroy sampras' record, oh its true, and you know it, i used to be like u "surass", i hated karl malone so much i would go on nba messageboards and ask, should he retire?
Should Federer retire? Of course he should.
In about ten years' time.
no wayyyy, agassi played well into his mid 30's and was still highly ranked [for a good portion of that period]. also, i'd like to believe that tennis is more than a short-term trend sport in which players get popular, then quickly injure themselves or retire.
why would anyone even ask that question?
Tiger Woods is in danger of missing the cut at the Player's Championship at Sawgrass. He didn't win the Master's, even though it was handed to him on a platter. Should Tiger retire?
Yup, Fed's done, but I think he'd do pretty decent on the Senior Tour (watch out for that Sampras guy Roga!) However I can see him make one more run for Wimbledon if he hires SoBad to consult his wardrobe and hair styling products.
Absolutely. He knows that Phil Michelson is the Safin to his Federer. Anyday he knows that Phil can just take over, and that Phil melts down only to preserve his own greatness. Tiger knows that eventually Michelle Wie will become GOAT in men's golf and wants to retire before he is revealed as a fraud. Had Seles not been stabbed in the back, she would have dominated the men's tour like no player before her.
Novitski should retire too. Just because.
Should Bjorn Borg retire?
Nah, he still needs to win the US Open in order to become a legitimate threat to Nadal. But watch out if Borg starts to use poly strings. Borg vs. Nadal in 2009, mark your calendar.
You're obviously forgotting the imminent return of Thomas Muster to the Top-10, due to his change in service motion and successful conversion to S&V.
Borg Vs. Nadal Vs. Muster in 2009, mark your calendar too.
Should these threads go away for ever?
Oh no, another Muster hater.
You wouldnt say this when you know the real reason why Federer Lost.
Federer has been reading the Tips and other threads in our Forum and using that to good use. Apparently someone hacked into his ID and did some posts that caused TW to ban his ID.
With out the Help of our forum, Federer's game is no better than many of us and ended up loosing.
Federer wil definitely retire if our Forum says so. After all what does he know abt Tennis that thsi forum doesnt know.
lmfao. Great stuff.
That is very true. He needs to get out of his small circle of Mirka, his parents, and the ancient Roche. He can start by humbly introducing himself to us here, or alternatively, he can make a splash by posting a spoiler result. Either way we will accept him. Then, we can suggest a good permanent coach for him, for when he is away from the Internet. We can point out his backhand problems, and fit him with a better racquet. We also know exactly what it takes to beat Nadal. But first, he must trust us.
Yes. Fed should fire Roche and hire Aykhan Mammadov.
Yes, Fed should retire and come play tennis with the guys of the TW South Florida Chapter.
That wouldn't be a fair game. Looking at his shanky FH, he's clearly a 3.5 pusher.
Mammadov is a fanatic of tennis, but he really needs SoBad to do his hair.
Federer lost in an event so it makes perfect sense that he should stop playing, lose his #1 place and let all that money fly away. Get serious for once and refrain from posting total crap.
Why not?. Look at most of the people here. Since they couldnt win a match against ATP pro's they quit Pro tennis and started playing Recre tennis (and some postings at this forum).
If someone as good as people here can do it, why cant Federer do it?
LOL -- Good one
Makes perfect sense to me now
Yes, Federer should retire from Clay court tennis!
In that case, he shouldn't retire because he wouldn't be able to hang with us. He is better off staying on tour, because we play a lot on clay.
It's a question of self-confidence.. Roger lacks it right now.. He needs a few wins in order to start going again... He will strike back I am sure...
Besides that he has to be careful.. I'm pretty sure that Nadal is getting better and I think that he will improve his last year's record from August to December...
Are you kidding?. Federer will not win another tournament..ever. Even if he were to organize his own tournament and he and Mirka are the only people playing it. Didn't you read the posts in this forum. They said he is done. He should retire. Not withstanding the 10 grandslams, countless ATP tournaments and matches he won. He lost 4 matches this year and hence he should retire. In fact if somebody looses 1 match, they should retire.
Too bad Samprad and Agassi didnt know abt this. They should retired a lot earlier!!
A COMPLETELY pointless thread. Enough said.
It depends i guess. some people get it and some people dont.
Why are we all freaking out over a little slump, everyone is convinced he is washed up. It is a few matches remember he won the Austrailian open without dropping a set.
No way should Federer retire. He has played a couple poor matches, but he is still #1.
even if he retired now, who is gonna take over?
i don see a greater master of the game than fed ex....give him a break...he had an amazing 3 years....its ok for his form to take a slight dip.....
anyway wait for the wimbledon and US Open to judge him properly...if he can retain them all again and lose FO to Nad in the finals, i would think he is still worthy as the King....
I dont think anyone is freaking out..atleast not me. I was sircastic in my posts that someone here in the forum whose claim to Tennis fame is most likely a photo with some Tennis pro is trying to tell World #1 Roger federer, winner of 10 grandslams and counting What to do on a tennis court. ..Yea..right.
Yeah, in reality it should read..."Should Federer have even bothered to pick up a tennis racquet in the first place".
Thanks, Roger, for listening to me and taking the first step.
Mired in his worst slump in more than three years, Roger Federer is splitting from coach Tony Roche.
The top-ranked Federer announced the change on his Web site Saturday, saying he and Roche mutually decided to end their arrangement. The move leaves Federer without a coach two weeks before the May 27 start of the French Open, the only Grand Slam tournament he hasn't won.
Man, what would Roger do without you? By the way, I hope you don't ever knock Roger for arrogance, because you seem more than full of yourself. Unless of course, this is bad humor, in that case...well that's just sad.
15 and coutning, suresh. but please, do keep starting these threads. They are hilarious.
I'd say in another year or so, maybe.
LOL. suresh in his peak prime years.
@stringertom this is OP in the years before you.
Why did you have to remind me this guy existed? I was perfectly content to give GOAT troll / memer / dumbest poster to 90's Clay.
Now you had to muddy the waters by bumping this and reminding me of this guy.
