Tennis is a cruel sport which demonstrates the difference between 30s and 20s very well.... AT the highest level there is no room to win in your 30s unless you are ATGs.

Grigor is old at 33, this is reality.

Grigor was 3-33 vs Big Three.
But he has posted some of his best results in the last year. Grigor is ranked the Top 10.
He is not winning Majors but very capable of hanging with most of New Gen for another year. Especially in 3 set matches.
Grigor is a young 33. He has to decide whether he enjoys playing while being content not winning anything.

The question is that whether he can continue this form or collapse quickly like Anderson after Wimbledon 2018.

He can still win ATP 250 or even ATP 500 titles, and some more deep runs at Slams. That's still more than what over 50% of the tour can dream of.

He was never good enough to win a Slam in his prime, and has never even reached a final. I don't get why some of his fans still expect him to win one in his old age.

He should have found a different hobby. He doesn’t seem to be very good at tennis or put in the necessary work to be good at tennis . He was touted as the next Federer and he became Harold Minor to a Michael Jordan. All those years on tour and hardly anything to show for it

He's gonna stick around because he's good looking and has dated many beautiful WTA players in the last 10 years

Ummmm He’s not. Projected to do a lot and did a whole lot of nothing. We need to stop make excuses for guys who failed expectations. This is why 3 guys dominated everything for 20 years. Everyone else was let off the hook for not getting better or working on their game

Maybe you need to stop calling everyone a mug and accept that the B3 dominated because they were good and not because everyone else was bad

The beg 3 were exceptionally good as were: Gonzalez-Rosewall and Hoad. Then there was: Rosewall, Gonzalez and Laver. Then: Borg-Connors-McEnroe. Then: Lendl-Becker-Edberg and Wilander-soon after: Sampras-Agassi-Courier

My fav BCR is a young TTW poster capable of hanging with Bionic Posters but if you add in all the mileage from his Raul SJ years not so young. Perhaps explaining his frequent diatribes about electric cars and his absences during match threads.

I was happy that Gomez beat Agassi for his FO win, still though, he is not and ATG
That's why I refuted him that it is not necessary to have ATG level to win a Major tournament in their 30s.
The case of Gomez, Korda and we can also include Gimeno, stand out in the list of players who had their greatest success outside of their peak physical form.

I have the same attitude about him as I did about Murray when he was on his last legs. He should keep playing as long as he wants to and if he enjoys tennis but from a viewer perspective and my view, he just isn't appealing anymore. It's like he's just "there" for the sake of being there and yeah he's good enough to make QF in most events but he's not winning any of the important ones and I would rather focus on the next gen completely than cling to the remnants of last gen.

I love that people are debating on whether a top 10 player in the world should retire. Does that mean everyone that is below him should retire as well?

This year 1 seminfinalist was single hander and ironically it was freaking Musetti the manbun

Dimitrov has career full of bad losses
One more loss is not that big a deal. Tennis is very top heavy sport.

Still though, his game is one of the few remaining that evokes the memory of: Federer, Sampras and earlier great players, though he was not nearly as successful as they were.
