Should I Change My Strings Wilson Prostaff 90

My current setup that my coach strung is

Wilson Prostaff 90 BLX ('12/'13)
Mains : Solinco HyperG?? (It's a green poly so thats my guess)
Crosses : Luxilon Alu Power
Tension : idk but it's pretty tight for a full bed of poly

Currently, my racket feels like a club, and I have to try 100% for every single shot, otherwise I cant hit consistently. After a while it gets difficult to do this and I need something to rely on once in a while. Also, if the ball doesn't directly hit the sweet-spot it's somewhat painful

I'm thinking of switching to
Mains: KLIP Legend (Standard)
Crosses: Volkl Cyclone (Yellow)
Tension: 59 mains 58 crosses

Would this be a good setup, or would a different one be better? I don't think I'm a good enough player to justify dropping $50 on pro strings (vs-gut, Wilson natural, etc).

Or should I just suck it up and keep playing with my current set up?

How long ago did your coach string your racquet? What tension(s)?
What did you play on prior?

I absolutely love Wilson Sensation mains and ALU Power crosses at 48/45 in my PS 90s! But strings are a very personal choice. I would stay away from the expensive stuff unless you can afford it and like it a lot more than anything else. The only way to find out what you like is to test a bunch of different setups.

I don't think I've ever strung my PS90 over 55, and just recently tried 48 and I love it.

Don't think strings will help you feeling that the racket is like a club, though.

Your racquet might feel like a club because poly string is heavier than NRG2. The balance has probably shifted up the racquet a bit. It's amazing how sensitive racquets are to a small balance change.

You're wrong. We're talking a balance change of .05 inches. That's not noticeable by really anyone and somce op hasn't restrung the racquet in a year I'm gonna go ahead and assume he's not the goat when it comes to sensitivity to weight and balance.

Now that I thought more about it, the PS90 is a pretty heavy racquet. I can see how a change of string weight would make less of a difference.

He strung it about a year ago, i don't know the tension but it seems to be fairly high for a poly. Before this I played on a prince O3 with technifibre nrg2
Most poly strings will go "dead" in about 15hrs of play. Most likely the strings in your racquet are dead regardless of what tension you've strung at.

How did you like the racquet when you first picked it up? If you never really grooved with it from the beginning, then I would suggest starting from scratch with a synth gut at mid-tension to establish a baseline.

If there was a point in time when you were grooving with it; maybe right when you got the racquet with fresh strings, then I would try HyperG at 50#.

This set up costs me more than gut/poly. It only last s 2-2.5 days for my son. The gut/poly can sometimes last two weeks.

It costs me a whole $7 for a string job of that. Of course I get wholesale prices and string my own racquets. Considering OP hasn't broken full poly yet after a year.... Durability probably won't be an issue.

$7 is cheap! I string my own as well. I use klip gut and tour bite. It costs me around $18 a set.

Yeah I'm not really a sting breaker, although the nrg2 in my old racket started fraying after about 3 weeks. I play about 2 hours a week on average, and I used to play even less.

I always felt that it was underpowered on groundstrokes, but I'm starting to feel a lack of power on volleys and a severe lack of power when not in the sweet-spot.
