I am a high school player and am restringing my Babolat Aeropro drive gt with a set of Luxilon ALU power rough strings. From what I understand they are stiff strings, and being polys they are bad for the elbow. Although i have never had any problems with my arm or soreness after playing before (I used a full bed of RPM blast and a full bed of Hurricane pro tour before)so I don't believe this to be an issue with me.
If I use a hybrid the ALU power will be in the mains with Gosen OG-Sheep micro (prob 17g) in the crosses.
As for me as a player I am 6ft I use a slice first serve with good power, but I do flatten out the serve from time to time to add some variation to my game. My second serve relies mostly on top spin (pretty typical) but I still swing at about the same pace as my first serve. I usually like to stay at the baseline, but I come to the net when need be. My backhand is a two hander that is on the flat side. My forehand is my winner shot usually, I like to hit out with it and rely on good topspin on my forehand.
My main question is whether i should use this hybrid or go full bed with the ALU power, but if you think of another string or string hybrid that looks to fit my game (no natural gut though, too expensive) I wouldn't mind hearing them and I might try them out.
Also just curious of what the hybrid would take away from the ALU power, but also i'm curious as to what it will add (when it comes to feel and how the ball will react after being hit)
