Should Jannik Sinner and his team file a defamation lawsuit against Nick Kyrgios?

The president of the Italian Tennis Federation (FITP), Angelo Binaghi, has come to the defense of Jannik Sinner after his double positive test for clostebol. Despite the current world number one proving his innocence, he has faced harsh criticism from some of his fellow professionals, such as Nick Kyrgios and Denis Shapovalov, who called for an exemplary sanction for Sinner. Binaghi referred to them in statements to the LaPresse agency:

"The criticism comes from the most idiotic and frustrated, those who had more technical resources at their disposal than Sinner to become the world number one and yet failed miserably. It's normal for them to make venomous comments".

The executive stated that they learned about the positive test in recent days and spared them "four months of anxiety", concluding by showing his unconditional support for the Italian tennis player, wishing him luck in the US Open: "He will come back stronger than before."
"

I, Nuclear Warhead Sinner, advise Jannik Sinner to take a firm stand against anyone who besmirches his name with unproven accusations.
Especially if they have a history of vile, incendiary, malicious speech and behavior.
Nick Kyrgios, enough is enough.

lol, go ahead sue him! You know what the difference between arbitration and litigation in a court, you have to tell the truth in front of a judge or jury, unlike arbitration, there is a serve penalty for lying under oath, up to 5 years in prison for perjury alone!

It won't work since you will have to prove the losses in monetary form.

I stand corrected.

Kamil Majchrzak was unable to compete for 12 months after testing positive in four anti-doping tests with minimal amounts of a banned substance. The Polish player immediately appealed, consistently arguing that it was due to contamination from consuming an isotonic drink that contained the substance without proper labeling. The ITIA eventually accepted his appeal and reduced his suspension from four years to 12 months. Witnessing the case of Jannik Sinner now, Majchrzak couldn't hide his disappointment.

"Just hours before my match, I received this tremendously shocking and painful news. I won't go into details for my mental health, but not being able to defend myself before a tribunal throughout my case, while others can play normally under the same circumstances I faced, brings me no peace. I am devastated and overwhelmed," expressed the Polish player, who was ranked 82nd in the world when he was sanctioned and lost all his points after a year of inactivity.

No point. Kyrgios won't pay of his own accord, and enforcing payment across borders is next to impossible.

Trust me, I've never paid a single judgement against me in my life.

Sucks that there is not more uniform treatment.
I get protecting the tennis brand with the top stars but why such seemingly wildly different ways to handle things?
Damages the brand you'd think!

Chris Fowler gave Kyrgios a chance to backtrack on his statement during a match today. Kyrgios wouldn't do it. Kyrgios isn't necessarily calling Sinner a cheat, but the fact he tested positive should stand by itself.

Sinner is facing a lot of heat because he escaped punishment whereas many lower ranked players did not. Suing kyrgios would be the last thing in his mind

Don't think so, but Kyrgios makes himself more of fool with every tweet. I actually do worry about the state of his mind, doesn't do him not much good to expose his lack of critical thinking in such a public way.

Shame to see the best (ex-)ATP server according to Sinner acting like a common TTW ****poster...
