shoulder injury- how to get back?

My doctor 2 weeks ago told me I possibly had a torn labrum on the shoulder or i had tendonitis. Basically it feels at 75 percent healed and in a week I get an MRI arthrogram. How long does it take to get your strokes back and back to playing well? Before this injury I had been playing great tennis for a few months. Idk if this is the right section but I assume so because I'm asking for tips.

There's just so much uncertainty in what is going on right now. After the MRI you'll have a much better idea. Hopefully it will be good news. Make sure your doctor knows you are eager to return to tennis. But if he recommends some additional rest be sure to do it. Also be sure to get a very specific shoulder strengthening regimen so you will lessen the chance of going through this whole process again.

Yes. Once you get an ok report from your doctor, you may try the following:

-- Swing a racket (FH, BH) in a swimming pool.

-- Medicine ball throws mimicking FH, BH, serve, overhead passes, etc. (oncourt before your tennis practice)

-- Gym training 3 times a week.

what has your doctor recommended for a rehab? your gonna need to strengthen the area. i would not swing hard on serves and over heads for a good amount of time. you need to let it get back up to strength.

well i have been doin pt for a week and a half. but my main question is how long does it take the strokes to come back. btw i'm 14 and have already had elbow surgery am in knee and ankle braces.... so i dont need another injury to hinder progress. I have been playing since i was 6 and tennis is basically the main thing in my life lol.
