I think the point is if you surround yourself with players who don’t want to improve, you’re not going to improve.

Not applied to tennis, but this has been something I have told my boys since they were old enough to talk to, and the boys we have taken in our home as a very fine point about improving life. Anywho...


You can hit and control/master EVERY ball anyone hits at you, so as much as it applies, there is some level it doesn't. I had a talk with one of my mentors and son's coaches about keeping my son playing up or in better classes and his response was just that. With EVERY ball hit at you, you are in complete control of making it an amazing and approriate return, no matter who is around, across the next, or anything.
