Showdown of Champions: Blake, Borg, Federer and McEnroe

In Macau.

Lol, three tennis legends and some random bald man in the picture...

Macau matches:
Borg d. McEnroe 7-6(2) - race to 7 points
Federer d. Blake 6-4, 6-4 - best of 3 sets
McEnroe/Blake d. Borg/Federer 10-7 - race to 10 points

Different format this time

I recorded the Borg/McEnroe match. It was actually very entertaining. These guys could still wipe the floor with younger players any lower than 5.5 rating. Borg was hitting some very powerful shots and even McEnroe was coming over his backhand with good topspin quite often.

The Fed/Blake match was interesting. Those guys were pounding the ball pretty hard for an exhibition match. Glad to see both of those matches go to tie breakers. The fans were really treated to some good tennis.

Borg and McEnroe would still wipe the floor with anyone who's not a ATP pro. They could still even beat ATP pros in the lower hundreds area (at least, McEnroe could, proved that he could still play doubles at a pro level).

Looks more like Venice (or at least Venetian in Las Vegas) to me. :)

Way too fake to be Venice. Even too fake to be Long Beach, California.

If you look closely, the building in the background was built yesterday, and the boats have little motors, hahaha!

Wonder how much they pay the guys with the striped shirts to look Italian/Latin/Southern European?

BTW, Roger's got the racquet over the shoulder, model pose down. Totally weak.

Little did I know there is a Venetian Hotel in Macao as well.

lol good one.

Anyways what would be the 4th match be? I read that there'd be 4 matches in total.

(1st: Fed v Blake, 2nd: Borg v Mac, 3rd: doubles, 4th: ?)

Awesome! Hilarious comment. Thanks for that.

You're right. I just didn't want to introduce too much hyperbole into the discussion, but yeah, they would easily clean up anyone higher than 100-200 ATP.

Good call. I didn't even catch the little motors, but you're absolutely right.

I've been to Venice. That ain't Venice. It ain't even a good COPY of Venice.

Very weak indeed.

Did anyone watch the final leg of the tour at Bangkok? I only caught the singles match between Borg and McEnroe (McEnroe d. Borg 7-6, 7-5) and part of the doubles with Borg and McEnroe each with a Thai player (I don't know how to spell their names). Did Federer and Blake play?

James Blake is Indian?

Hahhaa, no he just plays one on TV.

Kidding, I don't know. I think his late dad is a brother from the NY area. His mom is from GBR.

My buddy whose folks are from northern India .... he's tall and thin, and he's got a face just like the Blake brothers....and the dad is almost totally bald, so he looks like James as well.
