Siboasi 4015 Tennis Ball Machine

After months of research to decide what tennis ball machine to purchase for delivery to the Middle East, I decided on the Siboasi 4015. The only machine available in my area locally is Tennis Tutor at an inflated price, so I went with the 4015. The machine will be delivered when I return from vacation.

This thread is for discussion of the Siboasi 4015. Before buying the machine, I demoed it for 45-minutes while on vacation in Europe. I was impressed.

Dennis Allaway of crosscourttennis.co.uk has some good information on the 4015:

Good information on the remote:

Basic introduction to performance of the machine:

Yes - siboasi have a very long and distinguished history of building lots of sports products. In america they were branded as KAMET - and looking this up brings back lots of positive results, which is one of the reasons that i eventually chose Siboasi as the brand that i sell in the UK at https://crosscourttennis.co.uk
Having had a, then (2014), top of the range V8000 (which seems so old school now), the new S4015 is simply another league above it. You get a lot of functions, amazing reliability and an incredible 8 hours full use from one charge (from it's internal lithium ion battery). The new electronics are much more accurate compared with the older internal mechanical switches and the machines seem to be even more solidly constructed - this is important when you are dragging them around, taking them in and out of cars, and hitting them with tennis balls!
The new remote control is much simpler to use then before too.
In comparison to other 'big name' brands - they offer the same or better functionality for about 1/3rd less money - what's not to like about that?

Need help in selecting the tennis ball machine.

Looking for Siboasi S4015 and Silent Partner Smart. I am unable to decide which machine to go for. Siboasi will be delivered from China while SP from Canada. Both the machine are good, but I like Siboasi more as it has internal oscillation while SP oscillates the entire machine. Also, there are not much reviews of Siboasi in internet. And the USA shipping cost of Siboasi is $300, which is increasing the total price.

Silnet Partner site is https://www.sptennis.com/products/scoop-series-smart

Kindly advise.

I have had my Siboasi S4015 for two or three weeks now and like it a lot. Duration of use on one charge of the 30-Amp lithium-ion battery is amazing. On one charge I used the machine for six hitting sessions that lasted about two hours each, though the throw wheels were not spinning for the entire two hours. And, yes, the S4015 is one of only two or three machines that has internal oscillation. I ordered my machine with only an external battery, as I wanted two batteries. Since the charge time for one battery is 10 to 12 hours, I wanted easily to be able to use the machine while the other battery is charging. I do not think it is possible to have the machine with an internal battery and use an external battery when the internal battery has been depleted, something about how the internal electronics are wired. Without an internal battery, the S4015 weighs 26kg.

Tell Siboasi that your two choices are the SP and the S4015 and that you need a competitive price. The price from Siboasi used to be about USD1550 exclusive of shipping. Then prices went up in
July to around USD2100-USD2200. I think at that raised price there might be periodic sales that get the price back down to around USD1550. For the sake of comparison, the S4015 is in class with the SP Smart, which is about USD2100 to USD2200 shipped. This is a price that Siboasi should be able to meet or beat inclusive of shipping.

I do think the S4015 is more compact and runs more quietly than the SP. It stores easily underneath a table in my living room.

The S4015 is dual-powered AC/DC. The S4015 I received has an internal 120v/220v switch.

At first I thought I would be disappointed that the S4015 remote doesn't have a memory function for the program mode, but it is not much of an issue, as it is quite simple to tap in a three-to-five-ball sequence that repeats (maximum sequence is 28 positions).

Thanks for the detailed information, it really helps.

At present the sales person has offered USD 1560 excluding shipping, which will add another 300 in total cost.

Currently SP is selling their Demo machines in **** at 60% price with a year warranty.

The only thing I am not sure how the Siboasi support for any technical issues in machine and how long it may take.

Your thoughts??

USD1560 is the best price you're going to get on a new S4015. That's a good price. It sounds like the quote I got back in March from Tinga Sports. I'd take it. It makes the machine competitive with the SP Smart, which is the machine it should be compared to. There are three or four companies that are all related to Siboasi. Not sure how it all works, but they are related.

What can you get an SP Smart demo unit for? a 40% discount on an SP Smart is something to consider. What kind of warranty do you get with that. Siboasi has a two year warranty, where they will send you whatever parts need to be replaced, but you will have to replace the part, nothing too difficult on a tennis ball machine, but SP is right there in the U.S. That's something to consider. The S4015 is AC/DC, and the AC is a switchable 120v/220v, if this matters. Having both AC and DC power in the SP machines raises the price.

SP is providing 1 year full warranty. I talked to them and they said any issues in machine and they will send the replacement part.
AC machine is not consideration and in the outdoor courts where I play there is no provision of power outlet.

SP being is US is the main factor.

The parts which Siboasi will send, do the customer need to bear the shipping charges?

How did you get the Siboasi machine and in how many days it took to reach your doorsteps?

Without any doubt, you have to have a machine with internal oscillation - you'd soon regret not having that feature for sure. So it has to be the Siboasi. No contest!

Also, any opinion regarding Siboasi 3015?

Because the price of Demo Smart SP and S3015 may go same.
It's a good machine, with the same mechanical and electrical parts, but has less functions. You don't get the 'fine' adjustment left and right/up and down that you do with the 4015 (although that's not a big issue as you have limited fixed positions to choose). There is no program feature and it has a smaller capacity battery (about 2/3rds running time). if you don't mind those differences, and it is significantly cheaper then its a good buy - but i'd still have the 4015 for it's versatility.

Thanks for the really good advice regarding 3015. The only concerns (I guess I am paranoid) that the Siboasi is shipped from other continent altogether and the durability of machine.

I talked to the sales person of Siboasi and they mentioned the life span is 10 years.

Is that correct?

I believe Siboasi provides free parts and shipping for the first year. The customer has to pay shipping for the second year. But you should confirm the details with Siboasi, as my information could have come from one of the sister companies. Maybe Siboasi will pay for shipping for both years.

I had the S4015 shipped to the Middle East. Shipping took about seven days. The delay for me was finding a payment method that would work smoothly and without exorbitant fees. I had to wait until I had returned from summer vacation to make a bank transfer from my overseas residence.

All the electronics appear solid. Throw wheels should last ten years. 150-watt motors should last as long as the motors on the machines from the better-known brands. Eventually I will try to source parts for my S4015 for when it is out of warranty. I bet they are not that expensive.

USD300 shipping to the US is good. That's about what it costs to get a machine shipped from the US to the Middle East, one reason why I went to Siboasi.

Which salesperson are you communicating with? I've communicated with quite a few since beginning to research the 4015.

The sales person is from the machine manufacturing department directly. I had put the enquiry in their site, and from there person contacted me.

I quite like the 4015 remote. I like being able to see ball positioning on the remote. Yes, losing the remote is a factor, as there is no on-machine panel to use. However, this may be a concern that never actually turns into a reality. That said, I am on the lookout for a smartphone app that will allow me to program basic wi-fi remote functions, if this is even possible.

A spare remote is only USD30.

if you can get the 4015 for 1560, and add $300 for shipping - door to door - i'd bite their hand off - literally! that's cheaper than i can get it for - partly because the import duties into the uk are extortionate - but that's still an awesome price. i definitely would not want a machine that did not have internal oscillation. that's the last i am going to say on this subject in this thread!

I totally agree with you Dennis, internal oscillations is a very plus point of the machine along with its compact design.

SP smart has 300 ball capacity which I think is overkill if buying the machine for personal use.

Thanks Dennis and Esantoro for all your inputs and help me to make my decision for Siboasi machine

I spent a lot of time communicating with Maureen and Katherine (English pseudonyms to ease communications with customers outside Asia) about the 4015. They kept going to the engineers to get my questions answered. They were very helpful.

I finally ordered yesterday S4015 and now waiting for the machine eagerly. It costed me 1830 including shipping. I hope got a good price.

Thanks everyone for helping me to choose.

What was the final cost breakdown: 1530 for the machine and 300 shipping? That's a very good price.

The hopper on the 4015 holds about 166 balls, not really much more. Even with 166 balls in the hopper, one or two balls might manage to roll over the edge as a full hopper of balls initially gets situated.

How many times you fill the hopper, 166 is quite a good number of balls. I hope you are enjoying practicing with the machine. How the machine is performing so far?

I can go five or six refills a session. The nice thing about a ball machine is that, if you want, you can just focus on your stroke without running all over the court chasing balls. It's not real tennis, but your legs don't get tired.

I rely on portability and mobility, as I need to transport the machine periodically between home and work. So I have come to realize that 166-170 balls is a good number because I can transport everything from the car to the court in one trip: tennis bag on my back, machine with bagged balls on top, and a ball hopper. Transporting more balls would be too burdensome.

Any recommendations what kind of balls should I use ?

I like the Artengo 720 pressureless balls. I have 75 of those. I also have 200 Penn pressureless balls which are working out fine. For just a bit more money, not much, the Gamma pressureless balls are supposed to have more bounce than the Penn. Because I need to keep a set of balls at work and a set of balls at home, I've ordered Gamma balls to see if they are indeed better than the Penn balls.

I noticed something about the remote today. You can program in your shot selection, then choose a different mode and still be able to return to your programmed shot selection. There is a short-term memory, but all inputs will be lost once you turn off the remote, no long-term memory.

I just got in some Gamma pressureless balls from Amazon. Though I have yet to hit with them in the 4015, I can already tell that they are better than the Penn pressureless balls. The felt looks more durable, and the bounce is a consistent 57"/144.78cm. Average weight per ball is a consistent 55.2 grams to 55.6 grams. Diameter seems to be a consistent 65mm.

May I ask what the real dimensions and the weight of the S4015 are? You can find many different informations in the internet.

What do you think of the Wx series from Siboasi?

I have an external battery, which for me was a good decision. Without the internal battery, the 4015 weighs 26kg. First thing I did when I received the 4015 was to put it on the scale. Reasonable maximum number of balls in the hopper is around 166.

I think the Wx series is a good choice. I like the programability of the 4015, but I don't use it much. Just make sure whatever Wx machine you get has all the same internals as the 4015, just minus the programability. The wheels and the motors on the 4015 seem very good.

So is the random function just one function, so random balls covering the whole court, or can it randomize the preprogrammed drills and custom programmed drills as well?

1560 for machine and 270 for shipping
The siboasi.en.made-in-china.com says: $2,050.00 to $2,388.00. I don't know if the latter number is with shipping included or not.

Google's link to the main Siboasi page for the machine says it includes the price quote but I couldn't find pricing on it:

Best S4015 Tennis Ball Machine Price and Training | SIBOASI

There is another page for it but it only has contacts for company reps, no pricing.
SP smart has 300 ball capacity which I think is overkill if buying the machine for personal use.
I'm doubtful about that. The least pleasurable part of dealing with a ball machine is having to collect and refill when you're wanting to do tennis practice instead.

I have looked into this machine because I will not buy a lead acid battery ball machine. Lead acid batteries make excellent sense for cars but are terrible for ball machine use. They're too heavy and they can't tolerate being discharged.

A former Apple engineer is making a machine and he said he was prompted to do it because the machines on the market are made with obsolete tech. Well, that's definitely true when it comes to lead acid batteries. However, he missed the mark by giving his machine such a low ball capacity.

Why is this thing so heavy compared to other internally oscillating machines like the Spinfire and despite having an lithium battery?
