Silent Partner Maestro Review

AT92292

Semi-Pro
I just got my Silent partner maestro the other day and it was my first stringing machine. Let me tell u something..... IT IS AWESOME!!! Assembly was very easy probobly around 20-30 mins seemed longer because the tensioner was on lockout and I didnt know and it wasnt moving. But I just read the manual and everything was fine. If u looked at some of my posts I was mostly considering an electric or an Alpha or Gamma crack machine. Never a Silent Partner crank. i dont regret it one bit. The Tensioner is very accurate and easy to use. The clamps coming from using glide bar clamps on m boss' machine is like heaven. The three tooth clamps come in handy for crosses. The mounting system took a little getting used to because I usually used 2 point mounting. I had a little trouble with the self centering but I think Im just doing it wrong. If u are thinking about getting this machine I highly recommend it!!

I dont know how to lock the brake for the table and how to calibrate it with a fish scale. Can anyone tell me how to and not tell me to do a search

The brake for the table I believe is a screw brake. Check out the manual for it.

Also, I have to ask because this issue has come up before. Are those clamp bases spring assisted? I know that's how they're marketed, but do they work like spring assisted clamps?

Any answers OP?

Sorry for the late response but I really cant answer the question because i dont know what typical cone lock bases and what typical spring assisted clamps. Theyre pretty easy to use but they dont click like yulitles tecnifibre machine they seem pretty similar to yulitles gamma machine

Really? This is interesting.

Does it feel as if you have to turn it as in tightening a bolt, or does it feel easy like a light switch?

The turntable lock is on underneath the turntable and above the tool tray. It is the black knob on the support post. Turn that and it presses onto the shaft of the turntable locking it.

Is the Maestro's also a friction brake? Or is it like an internal disc lock brake?

I was just looking at pictures on Silent Partner's website and on photostringer.com and I think I might have gotten the wron clamp bases because they have a little screw at the top and they are black (like Gamma tabletops) when in pictures they look like Alpha clamp bases with no screw but are all red

Yes, i would definately call and make sure yours are spring assisted because you may have gotten cone lock bases.

100% black, or black and red? If the latter and 3 teeth, you have the most current version.
