Similar to Grapplesnake Tour M8?

I'm a huge fan of Grapplesnake Tour M8. Have played it quite a lot recently in the Vcore 100 2023, and even more recently in a Wilson Shift 300 demo. If I was looking for something with very similar characteristics (good spin, feel, power) but a touch more comfy, what would you steer me towards? Typically string between 46-48, depending on frame and how sensitive my wrist is feeling.

Did it give you arm pain? I read that it was best strung <45 lbs but I can't confirm as I have some in 17g in my bag but am waiting for spring to put it in.

What gauge are you playing Tour M8 in? Maybe go thicker?

I'm playing with it in 1.30 in a Vcore 100+ 2021 and it's by far the most comfortable poly I've used.

How often do you restring? I hit very spinny/loopy/heavy and I generally restring it after about 4-5 hours since it moves on me by then, despite it lasting longer than other strings I've tried.

I'm hitting the 1.25. And I string maybe every 6-8 hours or so. To be clear, I've never had any pain or issues with it all (I do love it!) just curious to see what plays similarly, bonus if it is just a little more plush. Especially in the Shift which is much crisper than a Vcore.

Ah gotcha. I don't know then, it's an extremely unique string.

I've only read a testimonial on their website that it feels similar to Signum Pro Firestorm, and then some posts here claim Firestorm plays similar to Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution. Having recently tried Evolution out of curiosity, they feel nothing alike; Evolution has a stiffer, maybe plasticky Hyper G feel and has a fast, very noticeable drop-off in playability where it seems like the stringbed just locks up. Tour M8 on the other hand, retains playability until the very end, even when the strings start moving on you, like it stays elastic.

@notthatgood Give Tour Hex a try, it sounds like it would be exactly what you are looking for.

I've had great success with evolution playability but then I usually string the crosses 2-3lb looser than the mains. I've strung it at both 55/52 and 54/52 in a vcore 95 (16x20) and stringbed hasn't locked up.

That being said stringbed had more movement and power during the first hit and then settled after that and stayed consistent, but definitely had less power, but tbh I preferred it that way. But I could imagine it potentially locking if I had strung crosses same tension as mains.

Maybe you just strung it too tight or need to drop cross tension slightly if not doing so.

Tourna Big Hitter Silver Tour 17g is close to Tour M8. String it around 48 pounds.
They are nothing alike. TBHST is very sharp, M8 is not. TBHST plays crisp, M8 plays somewhat muted and has a thud sound. I haven't found any string very similar to M8 yet.
