You know about Gilles Simon? The man who were often praised here as player who tells what he really means and who aims right at the bulls eye?

First of all Novak messed up, big time, but this tearing him apart is definitely out of proportion... Maybe this Simon's statement explains why...

Former World No.6 Gilles Simon defended World No.1 Novak Djokovic over the Adria Tour controversy. He thinks there is a lot of politocs behind this.

Djokovic didn't do himself any favours the way he handled the removal of Chris Kermode as CEO single handedly without too much consultation and the way he was trying to shoe on Gimelstob into the post despite Gimelstob pleading no contest to assault. Even after Gimelstob stood down from the players council because of the assault, Djokovic left the door open for him to come back and admitted to holding secret meetings with him. That won't make him friends in high places.
 
Well, Djokovic is certainly helping them weaken him.

Calling Simon trash because he doesn't agree with you makes you seem immature.

In 2012, Simon said that he thinks that men's tennis is more interesting and that they gather more revenue so women shouldn't get equal pay as men. Furthermore, he believes that, if for example the tickets for the women's finals were higher than the men's, that women should receive higher salaries.

He also said that he believes every man in the locker room of that year's wimbledon main draw agrees with him but they won't risk millions in sponsorships.

You basically called almost every male tennis player trash and probably the majority of this sub from what I've read here.

I mean if you think a Sharapova v Serena final wouldn't get more views than a Nadal v Anderson final or a Nadal v Ferrer final than go right ahead. I don't share that view.

The women may play less sets but if you offered me a 2018 Wimbledon Serena v Kerber final vs a Djokovic v Anderson final, i'd take the former. I'm sure many would agree.

The problem with your logic is that it doesn't matter what you personally would like to watch. What matters is what the general public would want to watch and the statistics have shown that men gather much more revenue and have more tv coverage than women when it comes to tennis.

This doesn't mean simon is right but it is a pretty reasonable viewpoint, especially considering he believes women should be paid more if the roles were reversed.

No reason to call him trash for having a differing opinion.
 
This is going to age well a few weeks from now as the disease gets passed around and infects more and more people and inevitably, people who are vulnerable to it start dying. There's no reason to pile on top with non-stop threads like we've been seeing, but definitely idiotic to defend the mess created.
