Simon defends Nadal from doping insinuations

São Paulo (SP) - Seeded 2 in the Brasil Open, Gilles Simon made it clear that he disagrees with the doping insinuations about Rafael Nadal made by the French Canal +. In an interview with Tenisbrasil, the number 12 of the World guaranteed that the Spaniard is one of the most respected athletes amongst the players.

"I think that they (the French station) didn’t have why to do that, it wasn’t right. I’m sorry for Rafa, because he is the best guy off the court. He’s a great champion. Instead of talking about him using products, we have to admit he is better than us ", commented Simon.

Before the polemic video of the French channel, Nadal had already suffered accusations by the former player Yannick Noah that he would take a “magic potion”. But Simon does not share the opinión of his compatriot. “I don’t agree. Rafa is a guy who does a lot for the players in the circuit. He’s a great sportsman with lots of fans and he deserves it. It’s unfair to say that it’s because he’s taking something ".

Thanks for posting that Crisstti. It was good of Gilles to stand up for Rafa and good to have it affirmed that the other players have a lot of respect for him.
 
Hmmm.

Gilles Simon missed 2 out of competition tests in 2009.

Just sayin.
 
Lol, so the haters find nothing better than to joke about this, guess they don't have anything to say (though some are apparently trying to suggest Gilles must be doping as well, lol).
 
This Simon guy needs to be put under the microscope. We need to have his blood, urine, stool, pus, bile, spit, sweat .... everything ... tested thoroughly.

Why, Simon's name is littering that list. His name is everywhere, on multiple rows, under both columns...?

Ha ha, it's no wonder that he is going out on a limb like this to defend that nice and very kind man Rafa against all of these very unkind and dastardly doping allegations.

Hey senti,today I am quite happy as it was the first time i voted..I laid my hands on that EVM machine..We keep harping and barking at our government so It's the best way to answer them..They smeared blue ink on the index finger of my left hand,so that they could know who has voted and who has not.

Darn you, i was actually (I swear) sipping coffee leaning over my keyboard reading your post and just managed not to spill it. .. the "no give to" was a gr8 "punch-line" or ending. :D
 
Nothing really surprising here.
To read some interviews of him, he seems to respect Nadal and Federer a lot.
 
Does anybody know whether or not Simon supported Gasquet in his coke scandal? I didn't pay any attention then, but maybe that give us an idea as to how much of the "more than half of a brain" he actually uses?

Why don't you get a quote before you talk trash?Easy to make a point based on something that never happened, which is exactly what Noah did btw.
 
Get a quote for what? I asked a legit question. Did Simon support his countryman in the coke scandal? If he did, I think it really gives a peer into what is going on in his brain. If he in fact did support him I think that makes his support for Nadal entirely meaningless, and the only real way for him to get any media attention.

Like I said, why don't you get a quote of Simon saying the same thing about Gasquet? That would actually help you make a point. Speculating what Simon said about Gasquet is useless. As useless as Noah.
