Another priceless gem from Mr Reed.

''1.Roger Federer v Novak Djokovic

5-7 6-1 5-7 6-2 7-5

US Open semi-final

To my mind Roger Federer has been involved in all the great matches of the last few years, and this, for me, is the pick of them.

This match is better even than the two Wimbledon finals that everyone talks about against Rafael Nadal - and the semi-final against Marat Safin at the Australian Open was great too.

This one was probably one of the top five matches I've seen in my life.

It had everything you could ask for: Djokovic suddenly emerging again as a great player after a period of really struggling.

Federer kept coming back at Djokovic and you kept thinking: "This has got to be it, Djokovic is going to fold." But he didn't. For Djokovic to be better on the day than Federer, who was playing very well, was outstanding.

These were two players who hadn't shown much up until that stage and it was comfortably my match of the year. In fact it was the best tennis I've seen in a long time.''

I mean seriously, why does this guy have a job. I seriously think a lot of people here could produce better articles. LOL what a clown.

Hey dude read the title of his article. It's "matches of the year." This in reference to your point that he left out 2008 wimby nad/fed in place of 2010 USO semi nole/fed.

That's pie in your face.

This is exactly why I don't listen to people here, so much false information and lack of research and ration floating around.

I've tried to ignore this guy in the past but this list seems crap. I know opinion is everything and one person's opinion isn't the same as anothers, but I can think of 10-15 matches better than Novak/Roger, and he calls it one of the 5 best ever and better than 08 Wimby final.

Cilic nearly choking against injured Roddick as 2nd best match of the year?

LOL The morons, so quick to judge!

He's really overrating the US Open SF. 2 of the 5 sets were blowout sets(6-1 and 6-2), I'm pretty sure both guys hit more unforced errors than winners and he still says it's probably one of the top 5 matches he's ever seen. No need to compare this to the classics Fed played in 2005 and 2008 vs Safin and Nadal. In those two matches, not 1 of the 10 sets was decided by more than 1 break. No blowout sets in those classics.

What a joke. It was probably the worst of the 4 U.S Open matches between Djokovic and Federer alone. Djokovic played as well or better (mostly better) in each of the last 3 years and still won over Federer who played alot worse than any of their previous years matches there. And Federer definitely did not play "very well" in that match.

And Cilic-Roddick match was a joke. Injured Roddick vs choking and
up and down Cilic. This guy is a clown who knows nothing about tennis.
