She should already have 4 or 5 slams. Choked away 2 French Opens. Maria should actually be stripped of RG 2014 when she was already heavily juiced and that one given to Halep which would put her at 3 ATM. Hopefully that happens as doping Russians have had many medals stripped the last few years.

Let's keep this negativity out of this appreciation thread. Simona did NOT choke away the 2014 RG final. In fact, she performed significantly better than the top 3 seeds. Top seed, Serena, lost in the 2nd round. Li Na, #2 seed, lost in the first round and Agnie Radwanska went down in the third round.

And Maria was NOT taking a substance that was prohibited at the time of that tournament. Because it was not prohibited at that time, there will be no retroactive stripping of medals or titles.

Heavily-juiced is laughable. WADA has no evidence that meldonium is even as effective as caffeine or creatine as a performance enhancing substance. All of these substances were allowed at that time. Should we strip titles of those who have used caffeine or creatine for training or playing?

On second thought don't bother to answer that question here. Do it elsewhere. Let's keep this a positive thread rather than a negative one.
