Strange TB, with a long interruption
Many errors on both sides, also caused by the grass quality

Bouchard prevails
7-6

Moments of luck at the right moment can be so crucial. Genie got that fortunate net cord at 2-4 down in the TB. A huge difference between 2-5 and 3-4. But you then need to capitalise and Bouchard did just that, coming from behind to take it.

Some great points early in this set. I haven't found a women's player that I genuinely like watching since Henin and Hingis, but these two are awesome. Many people talking like these two are the future, and I hope they're right. Great players, likeable women.

Would love to see the Wimbledon champ come out of this match, but Kvitova will be tough. Big serve, big game big experience and she's won it before!

Halep seems to have lost it in face of strong fight by Bouchard, two double faults, plus a moonball sent out

Her cross court FH is not reliable at all

broken

3-1 Bouchard in the 2nd

And now the chair umpire makes an overule against Halep, which is shown to be wrong by Hawkey

4-1 Bouchard
10-5 FH winners in her favor -<< this is where the game has been won by her until now.

This match is going exactly the way I hoped it would!
Halep is another Radwanska, she has no big weapon to hurt a 1st class attacker like Genie.

As confident as I was in Bouchard, I'm surprised she's dominating the 2nd set. I thought Halep had a little more in her. The ankle injury plays a big part I suppose.

How can one not gush over Genie? Inspiring player with NO screaming or screeching of any kind and nothing passive/defensive in her game. One would have to be really fastidious to pass on that in WTA.

+1 exactly.

She's like the terminator in T3, silent and deadly!
