Genie, why are you worrying about this at this point in the match??
Sorry but this is a match to get to a SLAM FINAL. If she has any doubt, she should ask as is her right, not a matter of score.
You guys are incredible. It is clear you've never been in a position to reach the 1st slam final of your life...

What is the controversy? She raised her hand to stop the server. If anything Halep was the bad sport for serving anyway.

Yeah. I don't get it either. Nothing wrong with what Bouchard did. Halep just played extremely fast because she's frustrated.

Hey, I'm on Bouchard's side here, but she was up 5-1 with two break points. Even though she was well in the right, she's in a very comfortable position. No need to worry herself and potentially distract herself. Just watch, serving it out here could be difficult for her.

It's not being a bad sport or anything, I'd just prefer a player I'm a fan of realize they are dominating, clear their head, and continue. She totally tightened up and went on to lose the game. If she wants to get to that slam final continue to play how you've played all year, like a pro.

Anyway, it's a non issue now. Moving on...

Bouchard's got this. I mean, look who I'm talking about. One of the mentally toughest players on tour!

Exactly. Not gonna blame her for feeling anxious.

Wow. Love the implacable judgement on a player on the verge of making her 1st slam final here! And how people are so damn sure how THEY would act.
Anyway, Never mind. I don't think it was a big deal, so don't want to dwell on it either.

You guys are so ignorant. You're accusing a player who has come back from several games down and won sets and matches against tough players of choking.

So many reactive posters on this board...

This is why Bouchard is a future champ! She's in the Wimbledon final and not getting emotional or celebrating. It's not over until she's holding the trophy for her.

Settle down Francis. She was clearly experiencing some ********* tightening at the end but who wouldn't in that situation?

It isn't a big deal at all. And I never said how I'd act in the moment.

But, you realize this is just sports? It's a huge moment for her for sure, but as a fan, I simply pick and choose my favorites. There are reasons I like Philip Kohlscreiber and dislike Radek Stepanek. A few years from now I may look on this as one of the reasons I don't root for Genie. Like you said, not a big deal

Sick of this guy interviewing Bouchard, I swear this is like the third time I've heard him interview her and every single time he's asked "Are you surprised with how well you've done this year?"

NO FFS. She wasn't surprised the first time you asked, or the second time and she's still not surprised now, get some new questions for her already.

Hey absolutely your right. Genie already has a lot of supporters but she can't get them all ;) No one can.

Great victory for Bouchard -- and earned the old way.

Halep never really recovered from losing the first set.

Her plan of playing ON GRASS only from baseline, no slice, no volleys, no dropshots, failed miserably against someone who did the same, only better.

Another coach is required to bring her closer to Henin, not to Clijsters, which I see here.

As to Bouchard -- good luck in the final!!

It's not me who needs to settle down. This board is full of reactive posters.

Bouchard experiencing a bit of tension trying to serve it out = she's choking!!

Anyway it's irrelevant. She won.

Rewatching the incident now it is clearer what happened. Happened a bit too fast the first time.

Bouchard put her hand up to stop the serve, but Halep was already half way through her service motion, and because the chair umpire was watching Halep he never saw Bouchard raise her hand. The discussion after is purely a discussion and it's a MP to get into a slam final. It doesn't matter how much she's up by. You don't waste those.

Well done Eugenie she played awesome tennis today! Halep remember had a 4-2 lead in the first set tiebreaker but Eugenie took control! Eugenie did get a little nervous at the end but she held it together in the end!

I agree. Experiencing nerves /= choking.

Choking is experiencing nerves AND blowing the match for the most part.

Bouchard didn't comply with the second part, therefore she did not choke.

It's always the same and it's so annoying. Not exclusive to this board either, but it always seem to be the case that a loss somehow always = a choke. As if that's all there is to it.
