Since Djokovic's comeback in 2018

He's had one decent SF opponent in slams.

2018 WC - Nadal
2018 USO - Personal pigeon Nishikori
2019 AO - Lucas friggin Pouille
2019 WC - Slipped through draw RBA
2020 AO - Groinerer/verge of knee surgery Fed
2021 AO - Blowed out Asics Karetsev

That's just the Semis not counting Lifelong wrist problems Delpo, Injured Nadal, Lumbering Anderson, Choking Thiem, Over hyped/Unorthodox Medvedev, and Ancient Federer in Finals.
lol

Somewhat pointless but still funny and true, I have to say. Liked it.

These weak eras debates are never going to end and will never come to an agreement lol, Federer fans liking the posts of other Federer fans, Djokodal fans doing the same so interesting wow.

It's only Federer's fault to have lost so many close crucial matches and finals to Djokovic over the past few years, and it is most likely that he will finish third now, what's the problem with it ?

All I really see is Federer fans that can't accept that their favorite player will certainly lose his greatest records and who will always deny that Djokovic or Nadal are better than him if it happens.

Stop being so salty and deal with it, I can't imagine how many more threads about the weak era there will be again here, hundreds? Thousands maybe?

I think it goes beyond the Fed-Nadal-Djoko debate. For instance, I personally don't even enjoy them as players. As a person, I don't know them so I couldn't say and I don't really care. Congratulations to them for what they achieved, period.

But let's face it : when these three are retired, who will care about pro tennis anymore if the current situation doesn't change? I'm sorry if it sounds harsh for the current generation but I might be right, unfortunately. Players are dull, the game is boring. Today, fans are enthusiastic about Fed-Nadal-Djoko semis or finals. Beside this… not much I'm afraid.

Not the players' fault, the ATP etc. should just ask themselves.

But @Dominic & Andrey, you're right, this is an endless debate and I feel sorry to be a part of it here lol.

I was being nice by only mentioning 2018 forward. Djokovic did his damage after Fed turned 30 and after Nadal was useless off clay. Facts.
Everything revolving around Federer with you, right? Players don't have the right to their own legacy cuz they didn't face or beat Fed during his golry years.

Fanboism at it's best.

Nevermind trying to defend Federer's competition in 2017-2018, double standards much? At least admit all 3 won stuff against weaker competition at some point.

Personally I enjoy watching and rooting for some other players than the big 3 (for some "mugs" lol as they are often called here) but I guess it's personal and I understand the problem you are pointing out, for sure tennis in a first time will hugely miss and suffer from the retirement of the big 3, and a lot of fans will be less interested in the sport, or simply sad because their player will be retired.

However I think the main point behind a lot of these threads is diminishing the worth of Djokovic's achievements, so that if Novak ends up with more slams than Roger, there will be the argument that no, Djokovic can't be the GOAT because the last slams he won were way too easy to win and that by this logic they are less prestigious than those won by Federer, and then Federer is still the real GOAT, or something similar I guess

Agree. And it's a shame as, whether you like Djokovic or not, he is a great player and figures speak for themselves. Same for Nadal and Federer today, but it's also true for all the great champions from the past, which younger fans tend to forget, halas.

Tennis is NOT just Federer, Djokovic, Nadal -- thanks God!

Good for you.
Ah, still salty about the truth I see. I guess it’s got to feel bad when tennis is the only major sport in terminal decline but you’ve invested so much energy in the success of another man that you have to pretend that this isn’t the weakest era of all time

So "good for you" means salty to you? Not surprised - see a doctor.

I don't think many people are pumping up Fed's 2017-2018 competition, though he arguably deserves some slack for being a dinosaur at the time.

The part about defending Fed's Slam competition from 2017 and 2018 is specifically aimed at OP, not trying to take a dig at Fed directly or the other fans.
He is the one to claim Raonic, Cilic and Chung were tougher competition than Thiem, Anderson, Nadal and Medvedev.

Just what's the point of the thread other than unjustified hate?

Federer hasn't had the same big opening that Djokovic has had in his 30's. Imagine 2015 Wimbledon Fed- 2016 AO Fed with this field. Probably 3 slams.

I suppose it didnt sound fair to say Nadal has been useless off clay. I really meant with Djokovic because we all know he is the bar on HC. Beating the rest of the field doesn't make a hill of beans if Nadal can't even win sets of Djokovic for years now. Sure, Nadal won a couple USO with cakewalks, but that doesn't really disprove anything I'm saying.

Lastly, I'm not saying Djokovic has never beat good versions of Fedal. He's had some really nice wins. But great versions of them? I struggle to see very much of that. Small doses here and there.
That goes both ways though.

There are no strong Slams in the Career Inflation Era.

Well, except for AO 2017 (good draw all around) and W 2018 (weak draw with one very strong opponent, making it a strong draw).

But yeah, W 2017 and AO 2018 were undoubtedly among the weak ones.

Still only 2 strong slams since 2016 is pretty weak.

Honestly, I didn't even read through this thread because I knew it wouldn't end well. Unnecessary thread, IMO.

Oh yeah sure I'm dying on a hill for Chung and Cilic in this thread LMAO. I simply said they beat Nadal and Djokovic. That's all I said and that is a fact. No where in this thread do I do any of the garbage you describe. What is with you guys acting as if Federer 35-36 is the same as 30-33 yr old Djokovic? It's not the same buddy and I see a usual suspect @Third Serve taking shots at me through likes which he loves to do and kiss Djoko tail on the regular. Fed fan fights back a little and everyone loses their minds. Go around this forum and read all the stupidity about Fed. Gimme a feeeckin break

How befuddling. On one hand the likes of BackhandDTL label me a biased Fed fan while folks such as you call me a shill for Djokovic. I'm facing a pretty alarming identity crisis here, eh?

You can pucker up to the Serbian cheeks and the cheeks of his army all you want, but being often the first and many times the only Fed fan to like shot posts intended for me is obvious and I will call you out on it as I've done before. A truce with you is non existent I see because you are too quick to hit stupid likes that aren't necessary. I've tried with you over and over and now I'm through being nice to you.

Maybe he liked the part where I said that you made the thread out of pure hate, how about that?
The more you read this boards, the more obvious it becomes that certain users take a dump on some players they don't like in EVERY SINGLE POST THEY MAKE.

Literally waiting for the opportunity to strike and criticize, never saying a single nice thing about a certain players, ever.

All I have been hearing the past weeks is Covid weeks at #1, weak era, inflated stats, Djokovic is a faker, luckiest player of all times. Doesn't it get boring?

I haven't even been posting much since AO. Not really. I don't get involved in 90% stuff here. I say stuff about Djokovic bad and good. I'll say how I feel and that's it. I read the same kind of crap about Federer all the time in every single thread. Djokovic isn't some special victim case LOL. I don't respond to 99% of it. I ignore shots at me constantly. I don't give a **** really. I'm going to say what I think though. I don't like Novak Djokovic. Sue me.
