Those numbers are incredible by any standards ... regardless of the weakera argument that is bandied around that level of consistency when it matters is phenomenal.

You still have to beat what is front of you ... and would like to know the comparative stats of Fedal age 31 onwards.

Yeah this pretty much. Sure, competition, whatever… all that fell to him was to beat them and by and large he has immensely well

I might do a thread on Fed’s numbers Vs Djoker’s, they are a bit screwed after 31 because they contain Fed’s horror period (2013) whereas Nadal’s horror year (2015) was before the age of 31 and we’re starting Djoker’s stats directly after his own horror period (2017-mid 2018).

This seems to be on par with most dominant Federer spell, think Federer went like 125-7 with 12 titles in 19 slams from 05-10

Djokovic 12 titles in 19 slams as well.

What does it say about the younger generations? Djokovic has won half his majors (12 out of 24) in his 30s. Go back 20 years ago and the perceived wisdom was that a player was near retirement from their late 20s to mid 30s. Djokovic in his mid 30s is getting close to winning a Grand Slam, multiple times.

Or he’s so good that he continues to win without the supposed disadvantage of aging.

The greatest player of all time. The greatest athlete of all time.

If it’s so “easy” where is Warinka, Murray, Nadal, or any of Novak’s other peers?

They’re all either washed up or losing to the “easy” generation

Novak has worked very hard to keep evolving as a player and to keep himself as healthy as possible and it’s paid off BIG TIME!

I would be genuinely interested to see the results of that research. Will be testament to Novak looking after his body and unwavering desire for more trophies.

We can't go back 30 years ago. Its those players problem. Not Novak's.
Roger was losing to third rate players in his 30s. Novak didn't. Roger inflated his records in his early 20s. Novak didn't.

This entire era is of GOATs. We can talk inflation all we want.

I think this EGO of people 20 years ago that they know when a tennis player will decline is their own issue and they should talk to therapist or someone. But Nole has defied their rule. That's a good thing, not bad.

Inflation era confirmed
i would say it is the weakest era (counting from fed first won his first GS).
since 2018, apart from med on hardcourt and carlos' breakthrough, who else seriously had chance of challenging djoker?
djoker is a great player but the opponents he played against are ridiculously useless

It is the weakest vulture vacuum era.

On topic, congratulations Djokovic. No matter how weak an era this is alleged to be, you must be beyond incredible to have the focus and drive to achieve all that he has against fellow professionals.
Absolutely this. No matter who you are playing grinding results like this in the biggest tournaments in the sport day in day out is so worthy of note and respect.

I wonder if the shoe were on the other foot with Roger or Rafa holding the records, would their fans objectively recognise the ease of their favoutite players domination against these weakera opponents.

To be fair Novak and Rafa fans indulged in similar mental gymnastics to demean Fed during his heyday. It's just Stans being stans.

Iga should tell them dominance isn't easy. It requires discipline of the highest order. Especially so while not exactly being at his physical apex.

No, only that he is the last man of that generation standing.
Wawrinka, for example, from the years 2013 to 2017, with the same Joker competition from 2020 onwards, instead of winning 3 Major titles he would win twice as many.
He would "inflate" his numbers, so to speak.
:D
