I came across a Murray forehand at 124miles/hr which is 200km/hr. Is that the fastest single forehand shot of the big 4??? There is a lot of talk about how much slower Murray’s forehand is compared to other players but this forehand shows he can hit as big as anyone!!!!

3rd on this list.

Nadal vs Djokovic in 2012 AO final (that falling backwards and ripping the FH IO) was probably 110 MPH

Smell some hyperbole on this thread..... DelPo has clocked 120 mph but he does it on those crazy running forehands. Can’t imagine Agassi having done that on rally balls, personally.

Not a big fan of those isolated claims. Things have become a lot better with Hawkeye. Murray certainly could hammer it from a fine position but relied less on pace in his rallies then on placement.

Oh yeah? Well, Nadal could hit 200 mph forehands when he was 12, and Federer once hit a 300 mph forehand before he even learned how to play tennis.

But they're nothing compared to Rosewall who could hit 400 mph backhand slices with a wooden racquet strung up with a shoelace.

All these guys have the potential to hit fastest forehand of all time, but it doesn't mean anything if their forehand is not a match winning shot. And Murray's was far from that.

Please say this again. And that goes double for the people going on about service speeds and not taking into account ball rotation, ball direction, ball materials, the racket type, wind speeds, or the monitoring equipment.

If you could hit forehands as fast as these ones on a consistent basis, you'd be virtually unplayable. Maybe in the future we might get someone who can hit this fast with consistent accuracy.

I love it how Djokovic surrenders to the Delpo Thorhand in Wimby with his typical slump...then that cheeky grin from the tower of Tandil.
