I have a hard time believing these are sprints.
400mm is a full lap. Even if you can sprint a full lap, doing 10 ?
How long do you wait between laps?
sprints are relative... a few years ago, I could do 10x400 at 75s with a 200m walk in between.
nowadays maybe I can do 85-90s.

the point is, if you start doing them, track the times at first (they will suck), take an average and improve week after week.

let's say you're not in shape and it takes 120s for 10, then that's your baseline, improve from there.

for comparison, murray used to do them in 60s

I'd say diet. Cutting a lot of junk out of my diet helped me lose weight and losing weight means I can move a little bit faster, play a little bit longer, put less stress on the body. Eating the right foods before/after playing helps with keeping my energy up and in recovery.

Are you serious basketball? If you're tired pass it off to your teammate. Tennis is much harder sport
lol, old man bball and public park bball can be like that (i.e. shoot from the outside, or one or two ball hogs do all the work)...

if you're really engaged and playing, all the work is in defense, rebounding, etc,... and that's all frequent sprints,... but of course most folks just want to shoot :p

Yes, I just play defense and try to stick to my man like a fly on flypaper. I have extra long arms so i always try to stuff my friends, and that's the only thing i'm good for. Lots of peeps are out of shape, don't run back on D, and don't try that hard on. If you give it 120%, then you only need 100% for tennis.

The only time i got a work out in tennis is when i played a college level player last year. He was good enough to sustain 20+ rallies and hit it with pinpoint precision and aim within 1" of the corners, alternating. I had to quit after 20 minutes due to exhaustion and my arm 'bout to fall off. I wanted to last an hour since it was exciting to play with such a hi-level player and it's a really diff'rent game even vs playing former juniors.

Kettlebells. Halo's for shoulders and upper body (12 kg), Russians swings for legs and core (18kg). About 5 times a week for 5 minutes.

My conditioning is not the greatest, but I think one thing that really helps is hitting crosscourt on the concrete wall at the park. You have to run constantly, and because you're playing tennis, you have tennis high and you feel less pain.

Also, wall overhead drills help too.

Knowing proper breathing. You can drill as much as you want, engage all the lifting or plyometrics, do all the running you want but nothing will be optimal without proper breathing. This translates to cardio, oxygen carrying to muscles, countering fatigue and muscle fatigue, optimal court movement, etc.
