Sinner got a big jolt due to Iga's doping case

Poor Sinner. Just when the tennis world started to forget about Sinner's positive test and going ga ga over how how brilliant Sinner is. He won basically everything from Cincinnati to Turin and then Davis cup also.

Sinner was enjoying his off time and Everyone was ready to forget that and wait for another breathtaking show from Sinner in 2025, comes the Iga case.

In no time Both Iga and Jannik's names were mentioned together and how ATP and WTA projected its No.1 /No.2 player. The anger was towards Iga Swiatek by players who got lengthy ban but automatically SInner's name was added.

Another tough time for him

ITIA has destroyed tennis. The way they handle the recent doping cases is just really embarrassing.
I stand by my thought that the way the ITIA butchered the Halep case has led to them letting Sinner and Swiatek get away with this crap. Didn't want to risk more lawsuits and apologies and paying legal fees.

They threw the book at Halep and got it wrong/couldn't prove it. So now they just accept the excuses given by the athlete/the team. Heck, even WADA rejected the Sinner stuff.

Still odd that of all the top 30 players on both tours it's literally the two #1 players from each tour this year who have this happen...

How anyone can think this is just standard behaviour is insane. They have destroyed the sport this year. 2025 Aus Open is going to have such a massive cloud now.

That's an interesting take about why ITIA being so lenient on Sinner and Swiatek.

Make sense. Now obviously Halep and her countryman Nastasse is crying foul.
And Halep is no pusher. She is multiple gs champ and was No. 1

Her only fault seems she got positive in 2022 , 3 years after her limelight in tennis

They went so hard on Halep, one of the harshest punishments that they've ever gone on a top tennis player before. And they got it wrong (people can argue if it was actually wrong or if it was simply that they didn't have enough proof) so they had to pay Halep's legal fees and significantly reduce her ban. Albeit far too late for Simona, damage was done.

Now they seem to accept any excuse. My dogs vet used cream and then the dog scratched me and that's how I tested positive! Ok, we won't tell the public til several months after the positive doping tests and we've already settled on your innocence and allowed you to play the next big tournament. Super fair.

Meanwhile Halep? Utterly destroyed.

It is clear that being in the middle of the off-season there are no interesting topics and with your imagination you have to invent some.

The problem is that these types of threads have the side effect of attracting frustrated fans who know nothing about the rules, like the paranoid user from Australia.

Thought you'd have learnt not to talk about me or reference me after you decided to mock my ill health. Disgusting poster, you really need to stop. Leave me and my health alone.

One of those many Jannik bots (humble crumble, sneeder feeder, stefanos Respector for starters). Best to ignore the moment you see a profile such as those.
They're just so cruel, to mock someone's health like that was disgusting and they're still trolling even now, absolutely no shame. To have made those comments after I've spoken about health issues is so disgusting. A user who truly needs to be banned or learn some basic human decency.

Besides being a paranoid who keeps beating around the bush with this health thing (LOL) you are also a liar.
You said you would put me on the "ignore" list, how can you read my messages?

While Sinner is driving you crazy with his victories, you put me on the "ignore" list.
You are the worst kind of passionate" or alleged talr around, someone who throws out random inferences without having a shred of proof just because bitten by envy and resentment can only be defined as such.
While you try to build the sand castle regarding the Sinner case, know that he continues to reap successes and silence the gnats like you.
Hypocritical.

Here is the other envious person who spends his days making inferences about Sinner without having the slightest knowledge of the facts on the subject.

Sinner with his repeated successes is making you boil in your own juice and you don't even realize it.

Why do you keep talking about and mocking my health situation? It’s awful, please can you just stop. Human to human. Stop. It’s utterly heinous.

Put Sinner aside whatever, leave me and my health alone. I know you’ve shown your true colours but I beg, please stop mocking my health. Learn from this and be a better human. Goodbye.

Remember the reaction De Minaur had after the point that sealed Sinner's victory and the elimination of Australia in the last match between the two in the Davis Cup.

Here is the paranoid Australian user when he talks about Sinner he always has this state of mind of full frustration.
Evidently the fact that Sinner contributed to knocking out the Australian team in the Davis Cup for two consecutive years must have upset him a little.

I hope that when you refer to the topic of health you are trolling, otherwise you really need to worry about your ability to understand what is being said to you.
Bad story being paranoid.

Sinner will be fine. He may get a 6 week ban Feburary/March between AO and IW. The naivety of his haters knows no bounds.
Tennis is a corrupt sport, has been for decades. The world no.1 will not miss slams when he is one of the two biggest draw cards in the game along with Alcaraz currently.
Womens tennis is different, hardly has viewers and is a minority sport compared to the mens game. Nothing in the womens game will rock the sport like it will in the mens game.

I think you might better give it a rest, all had ample time to educate themselves about the basic facts by various means, including detailed reports, but some chose actively against it - as they keep demonstrating.

In the end their opinion is of no particular significance, but thankfully even the most ignorant have freedom of speech. CAS will rule according to their view of the relevant law and we will see if and how WADA will adjust their protocols after the fallout of the contamination cases.

Maybe Sinner will once again be - against his will - the driving force behind a change for good like very late finishes or the move away from Bercy. Even his attackers live in his world. ;)

Accept Jannik & Iga, it'll be open season for all cheaters!

Ban them, no one in the top tier will cheat again for a long time!

Iga received a light slap on the wrist. A one month ban during holidays. It remains to be seen whether WADA appeals the IGA case to CAS, but it probably won't.
The Iga case is wonderful for Sinner as it now effectively sets a new precedent for leniency.
Prepare now for a kinder and gentler WADA.

ITIA has destroyed tennis. The way they handle the recent doping cases is just really embarrassing.

What's embarrassing is reading the screaming of certain Talk Tennis Warehouse members calling for the banning of just two players, as if the rest of the current tour is absolutely clean or never used PEDs at all. That little group of people need to grow up and realize sports medicine walks hand-in-hand with PED use, so if some fool is going to call for Swiatek and Sinner to be banned, it should apply to everyone else the moment they are exposed...and it might lead to next to no top 30 players remaining on tour.

Its the bad publicity and reputation damage that got reignited due to iga. In Sinners case, its with CAS now. What they decide is left to be seen

These two have destroyed all that tennis has fought for.

It's disgusting and the cover up that is happening is just as bad.

Ban Sinner and ban Swiatek, redeem tennis because now it looks like it's a doping sport, just as cycling was.

Yes, ban them both and restore honor to the game, back to the more innocent times when world-crushing dominance was unleashed by holding bread to one's chest

An honest question. It appears that you are agreeing that the ITIA findings and subsequent penalties were incorrect. I'm assuming you know that CAS reduced the penalties because, well, based on the provided evidence, CAS ruled that Halep was a case of 'a supplement contamination'. it appears you are agreeing with CAS decision.

Then _it also_ appears that you do not agree with Swiatek's explanation. Even though in Swiatek's case her evidence was way stronger and involved 'medicine contamination' rather than 'supplement contamination' (and it does matter as far as the level of responsibility).

Don't you find your position slightly contradicting? (and to be clear, I'm not claiming Halep is/is not guilty, or Swiatek is/is not guilty, I'm just pointing out that apparently depending on what athlete is involved you view the cases vastly differently)

Sinner probably feels like he won the lottery!
Should have been banned for several years, and instead he's made it so every tennis player can carry a spray in their bag and claim their positive test was the sprays fault :-D

Halep spent tons of her own money trying to show the Tribunal's decision was wrong, but no so misfortune struck the S&S.

sure, but that has nothing to do with my question. Do _you_ agree with CAS verdict in Halep's case? Or with ITIA verdict in Halep's case?

I didn't find Halep's case before CAS that convincing, but she did cast doubt so CAS went with that.

My point is that if the S&S get a suspension and can finance their exoneration then I am happy with that.

As it stands, they have been the beneficiaries of decisions that seem anomalous.

On the other hand, the new ITIA may be in the business of handing out carrots and not beating with sticks.

or perhaps ITIA, in response to recent cases where CAS sided with the players (Halep, Moore, Yastremska), has become less harsh in proposed penalties. Just as ITIA decided not to impose _any_ suspension in Bortolotti's case.

I disagree. The last thing that Sinner would have wanted to hear about his dope case and how top stars are getting almost no punishment.
Both of these points came up because of Iga.

CAS has always been more favourable to the players, so I don't think that is new. What is new is the ITIA.
