Sinner has the potential to be a BETTER player than Roger Federer

There I said it. I watched Federer since the beginning and I’ve been watching Sinner for the last 4-5 years and I can tell you the Italian has a higher ceiling than the Swiss. He's a very special talent. For starters, I think Sinner is a better baseliner and mentally stronger when compared to Federer.

Sinner has what it takes to take Federer’s game to the next level. He'll be performing and playing tennis at a higher level. That he’ll do should he put in the effort. Fed kept improving even in his 30s so Sinner has a lot of time ahead of him to improve.

I have no doubt he’ll achieve great things in the future; however, I don’t think he’ll have the same success Federer had.

Sinners generation is way more talented than Federer’s generation so unfortunately for him, he won’t have Federer’s luxury as the competition will be fierce. Roddick, Hewitt and Baghadatis are really nothing compared to Alcaraz, Medvedev, Zverev and Ruud.

Besides, Sinner seems like a guy who has other interests in life than to keep hitting a ball until he’s 40 years old like Federer. Anyways, that’s not the point.

Yeah Fed s career is pathetic. 20 slams, 28 masters, 6 WTF, 103 titles in total. Every possible record in the history of era broken until Djokovic arrived on scene. Pff

The average age of this forum has really gone down lol. Kids here haven't witnessed the monster Peak Federer was. Sinner's lack of variety and flat groundies would be easy pickings for Roger
Don't agree with 'flat' groundies, Sinner hits with more spin than everyone apart from Alcaraz on the FH wing.
But yeah, the doper can't deal with an inconsistent & raw Alcaraz's variety, imagine him playing peak Rafa or Roger, they'd make him look like a noob on court.

No player in history will ever be able to match Nadal's win/loss percentage on clay on other surfaces.
It's impossible!
:alien:
Dude, some of the people who've joined the forum in recent times have an IQ below ideal room temperature in °C ffs.

Calm your enthusiasm there boss. I’m a fan of Sinner and Carlitos but to say they are way more talented than the big 3 is a laughable statement.

Anyone know if the long term use of enhancing drugs starts to diminish the advantages he is gaining from them?

That is how long this run will be.

Of course once a cheater always a cheater so he probably has others ready to replace those he is currently taking. With the current lack of action by governing bodies then yes maybe he does go on a long run.

Maybe the OP is really a Fed fan in disguise, trying to get Nadal and Djoker fans to compliment Fed.

OP: First things first--Sinner needs to pass this one:

...taking the spot as the top male player of his generation.

No. For starters, technology has improved since then, especially in strings.

Fedrer dominated like no one before . Sinner has not shown brightly in channel slams.
But if he can hold his fort in AO and USO he will reach SAMPRAS numbers .

This was the case with Sampras too, and yet many of the current herd have forgotten him in relation to the big 3. Sadly, Roger may go the same way.

There may never be another Roger unless a coach literally forces and develops a junior to serve and volley first before learning all court. And that doesn't even include the 1HBH requirement.

Janni Sins and Carlitos could surpass Roger's stats but Roger has solidified himself as one of the all time goats because he just played so different than anyone else at the top of the game.

Carlos has the potential of being better player than anybody, specifically Sinner!
Hurray! Jannik has the potential of being the second best player ever!

I don't recall any of Big 3 ever hit the ball north of 100 mph. Both Alcaraz and Sinner regularly hit 100+!
