Sinner is what people thought Carlos would be

Once he figures out clay and grass more it’s over for the field. He might even by next year. He’s a force of nature and I feel for the field going forward. He’s the human wrecking ball machine destroying all in his path!

He has already figured out clay after entering his prime , problem is his stamina. He got gassed after being 2-1. His heavy GS are perfectly suited for clay. On grass?he needs no introduction at all, he won Halle and was injured against Meddy.

Don't confuse burnout with the varied high IQ tennis he used to twice beat Djokovic at Wimbledon.

He has been burnt out since Wimbledon 2023 and came to life at IW and then at RG and Wimbledon? And then again got burnt out? I am amazed.

I agree it just the stamina that needs a bit of work and maybe a bit more variety at times too. He is starting to add more variety as well though.

Carlos already has back to back Wimbledons, the French/Wimbledon double, back to back Indian Wells titles, has won IW, Miami, Madrid(2x) M1000s. Sinner's having a great year, but let's calm down on the rage bait posts lol
Sinner should clinch the YEC along with the YE#1 plus he might get a masters before the end . This is Sinners year .

Sinner was unstoppable, straight-setting Fritz with authority. He earned his second major,

The 2024 US Open has sent a clear message: the two, most overrated players in recent tennis history--Alcaraz and Swiatek--were easy to defeat, and at present, lack any game at the US Open, while Sinner and Sabalenka were so focused in applying their talent, that its highly doubtful the overrated Alcaraz and Swiatek would be able to stop the inevitable.

Oh my bad I thought you were talking about him overall. Yeah it can't be denied he has lagged behind there.

I don't dislike Carlos , I have pointed out flaws in Sinner's game last year but he sorted it out, Carlos has many basic holes in his game and he is playing same brand of tennis when he came , he needs a better coach and learn some very basics, he can be a monster but he's very raw. His weakness gets more exposed on HC.

I just react to the "same brand of tennis thing" because I don't think it's really thaaat bad, like what we saw when he won USO 2022 was already very high level. But I can believe he is in a bit of a rut mentally on those surfaces which he clearly doesn't like as much and that can cause the quality of the execution to drop to ugly effect.

It's not bad or good I am talking about but every talent needs finishing to conquer the sport. He needs that touch or will be left far behind the field soon.

Sinner is older and is in his prime. Carlos is still a year or two away from his prime and I don't know what kind of freak he will end up being once he enters his prime.

By the way, Sinner has almost sealed his YE#1 ranking with the win at USO. What a man. Top players would play 2 more 500s, two more M1000s and WTF, so there are potentially 4500 points to collect for the remainder of the year for them. Yannik has 2885 points lead over his closest rival and needs just 1616 points more to make sure he stays no.1 at the end of the year. If he wins any of the M1000 events(Shanghai or Paris), he just need to turn up to another event and even if he loses in the 1st round, he will confirm his no.1 ranking.

Italian. German is more like a 5th but the difference is negligible between them.

English
Spanish
French
Italian
German
Russian
I just changed your language to German because we are talking about Sinner, not because I thought your Italian was wrong. You know it better than me but I know it well enough to know your inclusion of the subject pronoun there was good stylistic touch.

Sinner is basically German, so yeah I get that.
Btw what are your first and second languages? (And others too if there are)

Assuming Sinner wins USO, he will be favorite at AO and likely wins there.

3-4 just like that. Clay is becoming a little more murky each year so Carlos might have to contend with some players.

Sinner has been decent on grass and will have built up confidence. He is likely a top favorite going into WC25.

It is not crazy to think he will have a 5-5 or 5-4 lead vs Carlos in one years time.

No that's not crazy. But again that assumes Carlos wins nothing.

I think it's also not crazy to imagine Carlos putting a stranglehold on RG like Rafa did. There are some solid contenders but nothing like the old days when there were hardcore clay specialists to bedevil the top all-rounders

Wimbledon, similar story. Sorcerer could probably come back and make a QF bc of how low the grass acumen on tour is.

And I could easily see Sinner ruling HC. He's DelPo + Djoko

I think RG will be Carlos for a while, but grass is where things could change, and quickly. Sinner should be dominating there and has the game. A few weeks here and there with his gained confidence could put Carlos on the back burner. Carlos was winning Rafa style on grass. It will not last.

Carlos took to grass immediately and has won 2x in a row, Sinner is still finding his way on the surface and is two years older. I hear what you're saying but we have to see it and we haven't yet

Well technically Austrian and you definitely don't want to conflate those two in the presence of someone from the former Reichlands. But yeah I mean Austrian and German are both German in the same way both England and Canada are Anglo so it's a bit of splitting hairs.

My first language is obvious, I've studied Spanish, Russian, and Italian all to not great ends but my Italian is second best now for obvious reasons.

Yep, as of now Carlos still in a better position on grass and clay. I could easily be wrong, but I think the grass will be secured by 25 or 26 by Sinner while Carlos will do the same with dirt.

Question is, will Carlos progress on hards?

Either way, we are set for a great 2025. Have not been this excited for a new year in a long time.

È perché sei un fan del signor Jannik Sinner? ;)

Over 50% of 88 votes said he will win 10-20 slam.

20% said he would win 20-30 slams.

First one I clicked on lol.

If you think over 50% of ttw is wrong

Then there must be a reason

Don't know what you have vs alcaraz but even a stupid person will generally say he is double digits slam winner.

Stop this hate for raz. He has legit chance to win so many slams you would forget to count.

hahahaha these forums are hilarious. Like "the player that has beaten my player stopping him in two GSs has several flaws in his game and needs a new coach to learn basic things".

Like, how can you not laugh?

"Sinner is what people thought Carlos would be"

People thought Carlos would be a less accomplished player at an older age?
Yes. And they thought that right after he had accomplished more!?

TTW is proved wrong all the time lol.

I have nothing but love for Carlos the Shepherd. I just think Sinner is a much better player with potential to have a bigger career.

Ttw is wrong half of the time. Not all of the time.

There is day and night difference between 10-20 slams and 30 slams over exaggeration

Ich auch spreche keine Deutsch. Diese Sprache ist natürlich für englische Muttersprachler, aber Italienisch ist wichtiger.

Provo a imparare tedesco quando posso ma non ha la priorità.
I want to learn one of the Asian languages, man. They've got a rich history & culture there.

Carlos won Wimbledon playing nothing like Rafa?? Carlos is far more aggressive and hits more winners whereas Nadal would just try and wear you down.

Carlos shortens up points far more often on grass than Nadal did.

Stop comparing them because they're both spanish.

Carlos 2023 Wimbledon win was a shot making masterclass.

I have stopped comparing him to Nadal post Wimby 23

I think he is more Nadal like than Fed like though.

Why would you think this when Sinner has two less Slams at two years older?
As said in OP, this is not a 10 second race. If so, Rafa would have won the slam race over Djoker when he had a 9 slam lead. Sinner is progressing much more steady and has a way more consistent and lasting game. He is also way better on hards which is the most important surface which has 2 slams a year.
@Lleytonstation is just messing up with us lol. He is a big Carlos fan.
Nothing big about Carlos.
