Djokovic 2020?
Still blows my mind Becker had so few weeks at #1.
Well, it doesn’t blow my mind when I consider how insanely competitive that era was, but given the caliber of player he was, 13 is so low for him.
I'm not forgetting anything, Indian Wells like Beijing is a medium-slow but hard surface.Sinner is 2-3 in surfaces that favor Carlos. You’re forgetting Indian wells which is a slow hard court.
On faster surfaces, sinner is 2-3 winning Miami and Beijing 2023. Losing at Paris, USO and Beijing 2024 final.
Yeah my bad, I accidentally read the number above itIt's worse than you think. He only had 12.
huge gap between no 5 and no 8, and between no 1 and no 2.
Didn’t I say if he doesn’t win this year he wins one of the next 5 editions?I was referencing what you said though ….believe you said “mark it down “
you sefinitely didn’t say within the next 5 years. He’s already 23.Didn’t I say if he doesn’t win this year he wins one of the next 5 editions?
I don’t know as yet. But just remember there was a talented, yet slamless player who won his first masters(and only masters) at age 19, 20 years ago who was also Czech.Don’t re
you sefinitely didn’t say within the next 5 years. He’s already 23.
Mensik and Fonseca will have much more upside to win.
Since there's justification for both you can't really say there's too many. I don't hate either but I understand why others do.Sinner and iga are achieving a lot and too many haters, justified or not.
no one has to like/fan anyone. less haters always better.Since there's justification for both you can't really say there's too many. I don't hate either but I understand why others do.
Yes, along with 6-7 other threads started by the OP.Are we going to have one of these every week?
Sure, but you can't control who likes/hates anyone. Really it's pointless to even comment on it. Saying there are too many haters won't change anything. People will say what they want about whomever they want. If "hate" bothers you, then that's a you problem. You can control how you react. I recommend the "water off a duck's back" method.no one has to like/fan anyone. less haters always better.
by that standard, this whole subforum is pointless. which comment here actually changed anything?Really it's pointless to even comment on it. Saying there are too many haters won't change anything.
but you are saying I'm not allowed to say what I think of haters. doesn't it feel a little double standard to you?People will say what they want about whomever they want.
I would agree if every comment was about "too many haters", which they're not.by that standard, this whole subforum is pointless. which comment here actually changed anything?
??? I didn't say that at all. You can say whatever you want. I said it's pointless to say there are too many haters, like it's pointless to tell the wind not to blow.but you are saying I'm not allowed to say what I think of haters. doesn't it feel a little double standard to you?
Yes, along with 6-7 other threads started by the OP.
So you are fine with all the comments that don't change anything and they are not pointless to you. But you apparently have issues with my comments hoping for fewer haters. May I ask? Are you a hater?I would agree if every comment was about "too many haters", which they're not.
You clearly still don't understand what I said. And you seem to think I'm personally attacking you, which I'm not.So you are fine with all the comments that don't change anything and they are not pointless to you. But you apparently have issues with my comments hoping for fewer haters. May I ask? Are you a hater?
Sinner looks like he’s going to surpass 200 weeks comfortablyNow overtaken Kuerten into 13th place. Courier is next in his sights but he has a way to go there yet (another 14 weeks) but who's to say he won't get there?
McEnroe, late 1984... answer the question, j.?In fact is he the only ATP #1 ranked player ever to suffer a suspension whilst still holding the rank?
Yes why not?!Are the weeks as No.1 counted officially during the suspension?
He will easily manage. The first one I am a little in doubt whether he will pass him is Agassi. After Kuerten, Courier is next in his sights albeit there's a bigger gap to cross there.
13.Gustavo Kuerten 43
Jannik Sinner
15.Andy Murray 41
it means nothing . Federer was giving bagels to nadal (YEC), to novak (Cincinatti) and to Murray (YEC) and lost most close sets and close matches against them ,especially against djokodal.Anytime Sinner beat him it wasn’t close and has dished out breadsticks. Carlos has never given Sinner any bakery products
Failed?Based on this list, we can now project that Sinner
has a real shot at achieving ATG status, especially now that he’s surpassed Murray, who ultimately failed.
how about no1 and no6?huge gap between no 5 and no 8, and between no 1 and no 2.
He has the potential to be at least a top 5 in this category.1.Novak Djokovic 428
2.Roger Federer 310
3.Pete Sampras 286
4.Ivan Lendl 270
5.Jimmy Connors 268
6.Rafael Nadal 209
7.John McEnroe 170
8.Bjorn Borg 109
9.Andre Agassi 101
10.Lleyton Hewitt 80
11.Stefan Edberg 72
12.Jim Courier 58
13.Gustavo Kuerten 43
Jannik Sinner
15.Andy Murray 41
16.Ilie Năstase 40
17.Carlos Alcaraz 36
18.Mats Wilander 20
19.Daniil Medvedev 16
20.Andy Roddick 13
21.Boris Becker 12
22.Marat Safin 9
23.John Newcombe 8
Juan Carlos Ferrero
25.Thomas Muster 6
Marcelo Rios
Yevgeny Kafelnikov
28.Carlos Moyá 2
29.Patrick Rafter 1
The difference between Djokovic and Federer is even greater.Sinner will easily cross 200 but we don't know if he will cross Connors at 5th or not
Gap between Connors and Nadal is huge.
Given how often he was inured and that he was sandwiched between Fed and Djoko, 209 weeks is quite good.Nadal soon to be #7 for weeks at #1
Nadal without Federer as an obstacle would have easily surpassed Sampras, and Nadal without Djokovic as an obstacle would have done the same with Federer.Given how often he was inured and that he was sandwiched between Fed and Djoko, 209 weeks is quite good.
The difference between Djokovic and Federer is even greater.

I think he is a more talented and disciplined player than Ivan Lendl. He has the potential to be at least a top 5 in this category.
But surpassing Djokovic's record is almost impossible.

Between 250 and 300 weeks as number 1 could be something that someone as disciplined and methodical as Sinner could achieve.I think he is a more talented and disciplined player than Ivan Lendl.
He will surely have a greater career than Connors and Lendl. He is more improvement oriented than they ever wereBetween 250 and 300 weeks as number 1 could be something that someone as disciplined and methodical as Sinner could achieve.
