Sinner joins Kuerten in number of weeks at No. 1 and becomes 13th in the all-time rankings

Still blows my mind Becker had so few weeks at #1.

Well, it doesn’t blow my mind when I consider how insanely competitive that era was, but given the caliber of player he was, 13 is so low for him.

It's worse than you think. He only had 12.

Sinner is 2-3 in surfaces that favor Carlos. You’re forgetting Indian wells which is a slow hard court.

On faster surfaces, sinner is 2-3 winning Miami and Beijing 2023. Losing at Paris, USO and Beijing 2024 final.
I'm not forgetting anything, Indian Wells like Beijing is a medium-slow but hard surface.
On natural surfaces Sinner leads the h2h by 2-1.

This topic belongs in Sinner News. If Sinner had reached 100th week or 200th week at 1st place, then I would understand the need for a separate thread, but celebrating Guga's equalization is ridiculous. :-D

Don’t re

you sefinitely didn’t say within the next 5 years. He’s already 23.
Mensik and Fonseca will have much more upside to win.
I don’t know as yet. But just remember there was a talented, yet slamless player who won his first masters(and only masters) at age 19, 20 years ago who was also Czech.

no one has to like/fan anyone. less haters always better.
Sure, but you can't control who likes/hates anyone. Really it's pointless to even comment on it. Saying there are too many haters won't change anything. People will say what they want about whomever they want. If "hate" bothers you, then that's a you problem. You can control how you react. I recommend the "water off a duck's back" method.

by that standard, this whole subforum is pointless. which comment here actually changed anything?
I would agree if every comment was about "too many haters", which they're not.

but you are saying I'm not allowed to say what I think of haters. doesn't it feel a little double standard to you?
??? I didn't say that at all. You can say whatever you want. I said it's pointless to say there are too many haters, like it's pointless to tell the wind not to blow.

You thoroughly misunderstood what I said.

Yes, along with 6-7 other threads started by the OP.

So you are fine with all the comments that don't change anything and they are not pointless to you. But you apparently have issues with my comments hoping for fewer haters. May I ask? Are you a hater?

You clearly still don't understand what I said. And you seem to think I'm personally attacking you, which I'm not.

Now overtaken Kuerten into 13th place. Courier is next in his sights but he has a way to go there yet (another 14 weeks) but who's to say he won't get there?

Sinner looks like he’s going to surpass 200 weeks comfortably

If sinner remains no. 1 even after 26 AO, he will be very hard to dodge.

Records will tumble and he will go to top 10 and then march for top 5

Anytime Sinner beat him it wasn’t close and has dished out breadsticks. Carlos has never given Sinner any bakery products
it means nothing . Federer was giving bagels to nadal (YEC), to novak (Cincinatti) and to Murray (YEC) and lost most close sets and close matches against them ,especially against djokodal.
the fact is Sinner is not a good front runner since he managed to lose his last 3 encounters with carlos despite taking the first set. Mentally Carlos is to sinner what nadal was to federer

Based on this list, we can now project that Sinner
has a real shot at achieving ATG status, especially now that he’s surpassed Murray, who ultimately failed.
Failed?

Murray’s career at the top ended AS world number one at the age of 29.

Someone’s gonna have to explain to me where the failure is in that…
