Sinner or Alcaraz! Are you a follower of Apollo or Dionysis in your tennis fandom?

The great tennis rivalries often split along classical Apollonian and Dionysian lines.

Apollo represents reason, order, logic, and restraint. That would be players like Borg, Lendl, Sampras, Federer and Sinner.

Dionysius represents passion, emotion, instinct, and chaos: Connors, McEnroe, Becker, Agassi, Nadal, Alcaraz.

Are you an Apollonian or a Dionysian? Or do you mix and match?

Djokovic is an interesting case as I believe he contains elements of both in almost equal measure.

Maybe that's why he's the greatest player of the past 50 years?

BTW: I was a Nadal fan.
And yet in much of your anti-Federer propaganda, you claim to be unbiased because of your fervent Novak fandom

You hate Federer more than you like tennis. Why? No idea maybe he stole your girlfriend.

When it comes to tennis, "passion" all the way. guess that's the opposite of my personal life where I'm all about logic....LOL

Yes, it's interesting. I was a fan of Laver, Borg and Lendl when I was younger but switched to the more passionate players with Agassi, Nadal, Alcaraz. Maybe I've become a rebel in my old age!
