Posing a question that's come up a few times now. And i'm being objective with the next few statements here, just stating the facts of what happened.
Sinner tested positive to a banned substance not once but multiple times.
The investigation was kept under wraps for many months. Very different to what happened in many other cases like Halep, like Errani etc.
Sinner was allowed to play during the investigations and was even used as promotion for countless tournaments including slams to sell tickets.
He gets cleared for the multiple positive doping tests 24-48 hours hours after winning a Masters 1000 at which point he is the one who gets to announce it to the public.
Jannik now goes into a slam with all this cloud over him and as the top seed, could very well win the title despite all this having happened.
Could this impact the public opinion of men's tennis? Having the #1 player in the world, possibly winning a slam after multiple failed doping tests and a hushed down investigation process which then allowed Sinner to be the one to announce it to the public?
Thoughts?
