Sinner vs Alcaraz is next great ATP Rivalry to watchout for.

Both have very good groundstrokes on both sides and subpar serve. Alcaraz has more variety from the ground, though. Should yield loads of good matches in the coming years.

nah, Alcaraz maybe, Sinner I don't think so.

I think ball striking of both these is another level and there matches when they reach there peak will be EPIC stuff which tennis needs. Amazing Sinner Backhand vs the Explosive Alcaraz Forehand and weaker wings are also no way a weakness for both

This would be a really cool matchup, especially on clay. On hard courts, I think Sinner still has the edge right now.

I love Carlos. My problem with Sinner is that at least for me I find him to have no charisma - he just isn't interesting. He's an excellent player, yes, but I don't feel compelled to watch, to wish for him to win, to jump up and down and get nervous about his winning or losing - I feel all of those things for Carlos, my new favorite player this year!

I’m glad someone else has said this about Sinner. He’s much more Austrian than Italian in temperament.

Sinner isn't good enough for the rival. Maybe zverev or Tsits.

Looking forward to how all these young kids develop, including their rivalries. I feel like Alcaraz, Sinner, Korda, and yes even Felix, have top 5 talent in them. Hope there are some titanic clashes between them. Tbh, although Musetti's game is pleasing aesthetically-speaking, I have him a tier below those big names with Brooksby and Nakashima on the second tier of 2000+ talents.

A match where these two are both in the zone would be something. I don’t think any two of the current Next Gen (Shapo and older) could produce a ball striking feast on the level of 09 AO Open final or 2013 R16. Neither guy giving an inch, hammering groundstrokes back and forth for 4+ hours with pace, depth, consistency, variety. The baseline ability just isn’t there. But these younger guys (I might throw in Korda as well, he looks like an excellent ball striker) could well produce that type of classic.

The nightmare scenario for NG is for NNG's like Alcaraz to suddenly start dominating and leaving Little Three with zero slams.
I mentioned that, like a year ago, and who knows that could still be on the table. The time is now to strike for Med/Zed/Tsi, et al.

Last week it was Zverev--Medvedev, this week Alcaraz--Sinner, a month ago Rublev--Somebody, I'll believe there's a great rivalry somewhere when they've played a dozen or more really compelling matches.

I don’t think it will be so easy to win big in the future without a 130mph serve that gets you many easy points. So, Zverev, Medvedev, Berrettini, Opelka have an advantage over the likes of Sinner and Alcaraz who need to develop bigger serves. Clay is an exception and they are more likely to be champions on clay in the next couple of years.

Alcaraz served 134 mph today. Until the last set and a half, he was routinely hitting 125 mph. Definitely lost some heat on his serve at the end, though.

At best, something like Berdych VS Tsonga, your standards are too low

This rivalry is as close as it gets on all surfaces.

If Sinner is going down to WADA, he should go in flames though, scorch earth, leave ATP in the dust.

Sinner has won ONE clay title and it was Umag 2022.
Sinner has lost SIX sets in a row to Djokovic at Wimbledon!
Sinner is just another Medvedev... except Med had to deal with Djokovic/Nadal.

Understandable, have a nice day.

I still think this is THE match-up the ATP can hang their sponsorship and attendance hats on right now since Fedal has ended. Most of their clashes will be instant classic.
