If Etcheverry could push Sinner to three sets then Djokovic could win this. I don't think Djokovic is going to win but I also never bet against him. The fact that Sinner and Carlos can only get the best of Djokovic now convinces me that they are not on the same level and are only competitive with him because of his age.Sinner is the guy I am most afraid of my guy to face.
Let's see but Sinner is too strong now.
Particularly when Twitter is filled with Djoko*ots who want nothing but a ban for Sinner.
Except for the similar boring game on court, Djokovic is a far better, charishmatic & lively man outside of the tennis court. It somehow makes sense given their styles of play though.

So trueLet me say this though, its very cringe and sad to see some Djokovic fans being glory hunters and jumping ships to Sinner, and I'm not talking just about this match in particular.
It's pretty cringe I agree.Let me say this though, its very cringe and sad to see some Djokovic fans being glory hunters and jumping ships to Sinner, and I'm not talking just about this match in particular.
Yep. Sinner and alcaraz can take slams off each other to help preserve Djokovic records. No doubt a third guy that comes after them will enter the fray tooI think that Djokovic fans should hold on to someone like Sinner, he may be their insurance that Alcaraz will not be able to beat Djokovic's records (but the same could be true in reverse). This year Sinner didn't take away Alcaraz's slam but it will deny him many weeks at number 1 and above all it took away his chance to end his second season at number 1 at just 21 years old. Djokovic fans who care about his legacy as an undisputed Goat have only the interest that the global level of competition always remains very high. Kind of like how Jordan fanboys have the Warriors dynasty to thank.

Is Djokovic going to share his money with his fans? If not, why does anyone care if his records fall?I think that Djokovic fans should hold on to someone like Sinner, he may be their insurance that Alcaraz will not be able to beat Djokovic's records (but the same could be true in reverse). Sinner 2024 is nowhere near Djokovic 2011…2024 Djokovic vs 2011 Djokovic in the Shanghai final. This will be fun.
To be honest that is mainly Fed fans. Fed fans in particularly love Carlos for beating Novak at Wimbledon twice to stop him matching feds record. As well as his flamboyant attacking tennis too.Nadal fans jumping off to Carlos bandwagon is not gloryhunting?
Well, maybe they weren't really Djokovic fans, just fans of the latest person who seems to dominate. That makes me want to root for Djokovic here.Let me say this though, its very cringe and sad to see some Djokovic fans being glory hunters and jumping ships to Sinner, and I'm not talking just about this match in particular.

Djokovic was finished at this point in the 2011 season and couldn't make it to the tour finals. Sinner is in machine mode despite a hip injury he had since the clay season.Sinner 2024 is nowhere near Djokovic 2011…
I have been in the Sinner bandwagon since 2024 AO, don't generalizeNadal fans jumping off to Carlos bandwagon is not gloryhunting?
Exactly, the reason why I love Sinner more is the fact that he seems more humble in my view and I love down-to-earth people in general. To be honest that is mainly Fed fans. Some Nadal fans love Alcaraz but some on here don’t. The ones that don’t probably don’t want him to replace Rafa as the best Spaniard or just don’t think he can measure up to peak Rafa, etc.

Yes it was so magical in 23 final. Carlos dethroned Novak at Wimbledon. And he held his serve in that last game. That match soothed many wounds on 2019.To be honest that is mainly Fed fans. Calling for Sinner's ban isn't particularly toxic though. To be endlessly obsessed over it like PavvyG is a little strange is all.I have seen thousands of Alcaraz fans, Nadal fans and other fan bases wishing the same for Sinner. Every fan bases have toxic fans. Federer is retired now but he had his own crazy fans too.
Honestly, I don't see how a Sinner ban would benefit Djokovic at this point. It would have benefitted him if he was banned after his positive test in IW. Djokovic would have been number #1 until USO. But now it's the opposite. A Sinner ban means Alcaraz's chances to win more Grand Slam and more weeks at number #1 majorly increase in 2025. On the contrary, Sinneraz splitting Slams and wearing each other down benefits Djokovic more. Common sense.
Zero pressure? This is a Masters final against the world #1. Djokovic needs to win this match. Otherwise it could be the end of this rivalry. The last thing he needs is having Sinner gain even more confidence against him than he already has.Djokovic will get 100 somewhere for sure.
He has zero pressure.

I have no idea what is going to happen today. I'm just going to watch and be surprised.
Djokovic is historically one of the best, if not the best returners of all time but he isn't at his best these two weeks though. Unless he excells today, it could be a tough match for him..Two incredible returners at work
