Sinner vs Spiz guy - what a low quality, horrible to watch match

Sinner is wide knowly boring of course, with his tantalizing skills of hitting the ball down the middle (not even that deep) and amazing variety (0.2/10).

Ok so now he's cramping...and the other guy is even playing worse??? How is that possible? At least, have the non-negative tennis IQ to move your opponent around instead of hitting back everything to him.

The important question is: how bad is this compared to the final tie break of Thiem vs Zverev USO Final? That was my gold standard for the most embarrassment modern tennis has been associated with.

That dude is a joke, even more so is his coaching team.
He could have played more creatively - don’t know whose idea was to have him hitting back to Sinner all the time.
I can count the drop shot he made in the third and forth sets on two fingers. lol

Lil harsh don't you think

But the match definitely highlighted two problems with the modern game

1. Spizz started playing like he had it in the bag when Sinner could barely stand up... Only for Sinner to get an hour of stalls/delays to recover and slaughter him. The heat measures should all happen at once, not chained sequential delays.

2. The same reason you can break into the world ranks by just being a 7 ft tall power server, Sinner won key games without having to take a step in any direction

Spizz played phenomenally in the early eats and Sinner showed just how strong he is that he can win on one leg.... But it didn't make tennis itself look very good.

Even though it wasn't as visible, it's quite possible that Spizziri was also struggling with the heat. It's not like Sinner just randomly collapsed cramping on a cool day, it really was pretty miserable there.

Yep, he hit so many balls right down the middle.

I respect Sinner for all he's achieved but I don't enjoy watching him. His constant "I got this" stares to his coaching team, shaking his racket, and generally being a very uninteresting player.
I do not give a damn about that. Even Lendl was "uninteresting" according to fans and pundits, yet become one of the greatest in arguably the toughest era ever

How do you expect the #85 player to play against the #2 player? Sinner was only cramping for a few minutes before, conveniently, the roof closed.
I think Eliot did a credible job for his first time in that position. He's got Top 20 potential.
I expect him to not hit almost everything back to a cramping opponent who could not move. Not just the result, but at least try

Sinner and Djokovic will be a very low-level semi-final, Djokovic is just nursing the ball waiting for errors.
Compare that to the level Alcaraz and Paul just displayed, its like a different tour!

Don't see why it should be so harsh, it was stupidly hot out there and Eliot was playing great. Sinner's cramping was the only thing preventing a very high quality match in my opinion.

I wonder why Paul cannot play like this more. He can take out 90% of the tour if he plays at this level.

The last interesting mens players were:
Dustin Brown (far and away the most entertaining player we have seen)
Nick Kyrgios
Shapovolov
Sampras
Chang

The new Fedal copy cats are sterile by comparison.
