Sinner's ultimate response - To complete the career grand slam himself at RG 2026

I think Sinner can do it. I really do. But he must first make good on winning Rome.

If he wins Rome, he wins everything he needed to on his worst surface....and moves back to his best surface.

There will probably be a few tests to come but I think (from the outside looking in) he's managing himself incredibly well. I think hes' coasted through matches at 70% effort other than maybe a 4/5 of sets across Miami, MC, Madrid and Rome so far. He can def do the clay swing sweep.

What if he wins all majors from now until (and including) AO27? Would he be considered the GOAT, holding all Masters and all Slams at the same time?

That's a colossal If, if I have ever seen one.

But purely hypothetically I imagine that such a feat would basically leave everyone but the big 3 in the dust even if he won nothing else in his career. He would "only" be at 8 slams but such a sweep is too much to overcome for ie Borg or Sampras. Certainly in goat discussions with just a couple more slams

Oh yeah it's ridiculous to even picture such a sweep, and yeah I think it would be so incredible that it would put him up there with the very top.

If he achieved this, there would still be people on here saying that AO26 loss to Djokovic has ruined his career

That is the classic stupid on this board and why so many get so much wrong about future player success. It is so funny to reread some of the takes ;)...

In a single match and far more so in a tournament a lot can happen. We had recently the virus upsetting the WTA side in Madrid, heat might be stifling in NA, Alcaraz might come back stronger etc.

Sinner is in uncharted territory.
Winning all 5 masters in 2026 . No easy feat given likes of Big 3 never did that.

Maybe 10 days of rest will allow him to win. But give him a walkover in the first or second round and it's a wrap for Jannik.

That’s a different record. The youngest to accomplish all masters record is now with Sinner
You said Djokovic's Masters record got eliminated. I don't think anybody talked about age when talking about his double career Masters. When Sinner wins them 3 times, then he'd have eliminated Djokovic's record.

Djokovic is no longer the holder of the record of the youngest to win all masters . That is the sum and substance . He still holds the record for winning all masters twice but that is also likely to be upended by Sinner who will get tha quicker

Yes youngest but it's a secondary record anyway to actually winning them. We'll see if Sinner can get there but it remains to be seen. Things change quickly in tennis.
