Sizing: Compare SoleCourt Boost and Ubersonic 3

I love the SCB, except for the weight and lack of second top lace hole for heel locking. Thinking of trying a pair of Ubersonic 3 to see if I like them, but want to hear feedback on sizing from those who've had both.

My foot is very wide in the forefoot and toe, but normal around the heel. Size 11 Nike Cage 3 were terrible and resulted in a couple of toenail problems and I gave them away. Size 10.5 SCB are just right. Should I go 10.5 in the US3 or 11?

I tried the SBB and the U3. Size wise I felt the leather Edberg U3s were smaller and shorter than the SCB, not sure about the other U3s. I usually wear size 11 in all my tennis shoes, if I kept the Edberg U3s I would have needed 11.5. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses. I've decided to just stick with the SCB and get something really light for tournaments when they start back up. I like Mizuno shoes and new wider Wave Exceed 4 may fit the bill.

I highly recommend these: https://www.tennis-warehouse.com/ad...Coral_Mens_Shoe/descpageMSADIDAS-AMAC2BR.html

I'm actually sponsored by adidas but I like those so much I buy them myself since they aren't one of the types of shoes I get. They're really light and comfortable. I wear those and SCB mainly.

They come in other colors if you search other sites. TW has an all white also.

Thanks for the tip. If wide enough, they look like exactly what I'd want. Sadly, not available in Australia though

Bit off-track but there is another retailer that used to have a comparison service that scanned older models of shoes and compared the size and shape of current models. Could also overlay current shoes

Now THAT would be useful.

I actually checked out the customer reviews the majority seem to think they run about half a size small.
Thank you. They look like the are made from the same basic bones as the U3, judging from the look of the heel collar and last. With differences in the outsole. Etc... might try a pair. Look forward to hearing Shaolin's comments on the cushioning first, especially the forefoot cushioning.

How is the cushioning and do they fit true to size? Thanks in advance.

They're definitely not as cushioned as the SCB but they have a very soft, glove like feel so are really comfortable. They feel pretty low to the ground, even more than Vapors. As for size they fit me fine in my normal 11.5. They are more narrow fitting than the SCB but then those feel very wide to me (still love them though).

Appreciate the information. Thanks

The SCB isn't shorter than the U3. The differences lie in the front of the shoe is shaped. The SCB has a wider front area where the toe guard is. For size 11 shoe, there's an extra 10mm of circumference at 2cm from the top of the shoe. That's where the toes usually scrunch up. it is also more voluminous in the toe areas. That is why the U3 feels shorter, because the shape of your toes are wider at the top.
The shape of your foot dictates what size you wear in any shoe so don't go by what someone else is recommending!

Give the Babolat SFX3 a try. Super cheap right now from TW.

I'm also a 10.5 in SCB and tempted by the U3 because a store is selling them for $30 (Canadian retailer). My feet are also like the second from the left in that picture. What size do you think would suit me best in the U3?

If it's a retailer, head down and try them with your normal tennis socks. Difficult to give recommendations, because it's not just about the toes. Although those with Morton's toe tend to do well with pointy shoes more. The U3 also is a little narrower in the in the arch area, If you can't try, I think if the SCB is comfortably spacious, the U3 should be ok, if it's more snug, I suggest you size up.

I hated the Ubersonic 3. when I had to run suicides or do side to side drills, the sole would flex and it felt really flimsy. by the end of practice, my sock was ripped and I had a blister on my foot. I switched to the sole court boost and never looked back. it is solid on all lateral movements and when sliding and feels super comfortable. don't get the Ubersonic 3!

Yes. The U3 are lightweight shoes and not heavy duty practice shoes. I would hesitate to call them competition day shoes but they work well enough and most importantly, they are cooler.
