Sjeng Schalken head tape

While was not as hotheaded as Kyrgios, so he didnt smash his racquets. More like cool baseliners like Borg. I often wondered why he did not try to improve his serve, because then Sjeng could have been top 10.

Back problems. He's still playing amazing from the baseline.
I ve heart before he does. A certain opponent who blew me off the court last year told me he had a tough time against Sjeng in Dutch competition. I joked how can that be against someone with such a lousy serve ;)
Normally back problems effects your whole game, so i still dont understand fully.

Wow, there’s a name from the past. Forgot about that guy. He was pretty tall right? And yet not much of a serve? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Sjeng schalken remember him for being very stiff looking player with a big serve. Used a dunlop hotmelt if i can recall 200 or 300g?

Definitely stiff - epitome of a tin man out there. I don’t recall him serving huge...then again sometimes I don’t remember what I did 5 min ago... :-D

He never bent far enough for any low balls to get in the “scuff zone.”

I’m more curious about fellow 2002 Wimby quarterfinalist André Sa’s opinion of whether Wilson Pro overgrip is tackier than Yonex Super Grap???

He is tall but not a giant and stiff looking which had maybe something to do with his back problems?
He hadnt a huge serve at all. Even many today WTA players serve much bigger, lol.
However he had great returns, which is beneficial on grass.
Back problems dont have to be a problem. Remember Gene Mayer, didnt he wear a back support corset and despite became ATP no3?
