Slam Gap: Federer Nadal =6, Djoker Nadal = 5 Who will close it first?

Discuss. I think Djoker will get closer to Federer than Nadal will. Especially how we saw how Djoker really should have finished it in 4 set with Nadal playing quite well.

Federer probably won't win anymore based on what we saw at AO and the rise of Murray.

Final slam totals:
1) Federer 16
2) Djokovic 14
3) Nadal 10
4) Murray 3?

Agree. NOBODY can beat the Serbian Cyborg.

Nadal will definitely win at least 2 more slams and possibly more. I am willing to take a bet. There was absolutely no evidence of wear and tear today

Really, Nadal almost won today and you are saying he won't win 1 lol

Did you see how Djoker played? Horribly. It was supposed to be over in 4 sets. And it would have been if it weren't for Murray pushing Djoker.

Let me get this straight, since there are only 4 slams a year. Djokovic is going to win another 12, Nadal another 7, meanings that in the next five years only one other person (let's assume Murray) is going to win a single slam, but even after that 29 year old Murray is going to bag an extra 3.

Genius.

if Nole-Nadal play more of these brutal slam finals, Federer might actually win a few more, by virtue of being the last man standing.

Djokovic will be around 7-12 slams total.
Nadal will be 10-12 slams total.
Federer will be 17-20 slams total.
Murray will be 2-3 slams total.

Hmm, I can see Djokovic getting up to 10-12, Nadal up to 10-13 and Federer 17 (hope springs eternal). Murray will bag a few (2-5) as well.

Hopefully, the lasting effects of this epic match leave both of them scarred enough to leave a slam for Roger.

Nadal will always have RG, at least a pretty big shot, til someone younger and better dirtballer comes around (aside from Djokovic)

I think Nadal has Nole's number now. Nole just slipped through. His gap over Nadal is gone, his gap over Murray -- compare with last year -- gone. He's back to Joker 2008 or slightly better.

We could see Nadal taking 2-3 slams a year with a declining Nole.

1. Federer 16
2. Nadal 13
3. Djokovic 9
4. Murray 2

That's my prediction, because I don't think Djokovic has enough time to catch Nadal given his physical playing style and how they are playing these 5+ hour matches at the end of majors all the time now.

Nadal's only hope is Murray/Federer beating Djokovic.

Not a good bet at RG this year for him. I think this year's Wimbledon might be Nadal's last stand.

The way Novak and Rafa play, I wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of them ailing for a slam this year. That gives another player the opportunity to slip in.

I think Fed will win one or two more. Novak will win two or three a year for the next three or four years. Rafa will slip a couple in because Fed will play perfectly to take Novak out in the semis then lose in confounding fashion in the final. And some new players will slip in.

Fed: 18
Novak: 14
Nadal: 12
Del Potro: 3
Roddick: 2 (playing in his final Wimbledon  )
Tsonga: 2
Murray: 0 :)

Federer is playing his best tennis currently at 30. Nadal will win 7 more slam. Djokovic will win 12 more. Do you post anything that is not complete garbage?

OK saying that nadal won't win anymore is ridiculous. i still believe he is almost unbeatable in a 3 out of 5 on clay. he definitely has one or two more french opens

Match-ups.

If someone else takes out Nole in the semis (like Fed did last year at the FO), then Nadal will win more majors. (Berdych, Murray, Tsonga, Delpo?)

If Djoker and Nadal meet in a bunch more finals, then Djoker takes them.

Djokovic is more likely to win slams right now than Nadal, and Nadal is more likely to win them than Federer. So it is hard to say. Any slam Djokovic loses in Nadal instantly becomes the heavy favorite to win, atleast until Murray wins his first major. Federer does not have any chance of winning with Nadal in the draw, and doesnt have a good chance of winning unless both Nadal and Djokovic are gone, and is far more vurnerable to slam defeats by everyone else in the top 10 minus Ferrer and maybe Murray than Nadal is right now.

As for Berdych, Berdych hasnt beaten Nadal in any match since 2006. The Australian Open is about as good a showing as he will probably ever make against Nadal period. He is officialy Nadal's b1tch these days, far more than Nadal is Djokovic's even, and over 5 years, not just 1. If they somehow ever play in another slam final it will look like alot like the Wimbledon final most likely, Nadal easy 3 and out. Berdych is a dangerous floater who is unlikely to ever win a major title.

Agree Nadal has to be gone for Federer to win and Djoker has to be gone for Nadal to win. But why does Djoker have to be gone for Federer to win? It was 1-2 in slams last year with the 3rd one very close.

Well I didnt say there was no chance. I said he needed Nadal to be out to have any chance, and he needed Djokovic to be out as well to have a "good" chance. Yeah he has a chance vs Djokovic which is why I was sure to seperate my statement, but lets face it Djokovic is still going to be the clear favorite anytime they meet. He has won 4 of his last 5 matches with Federer, and Federer is now entering his 30s, while Djokovic is just solidifying his dominannce and confidence.

I would agree with this.

Seriously, you think Murray will win 3 while Nadal not win a single one from now on? Hmm...

Nadal still has pretty good chances at winning RG, and Murray has good chances at winning...nothing.

That sounds about right. A title more or less is possible, if certain player gets lucky.

Heck the up and coming group is so useless the current top 4 could win 23 of the next 24 slams. It isnt impossible.
