Slams since Covid-19

Djokovic has a lot of pressure at the AO next year because so far he hasn’t won a slam since the pandemic. Will it become a mental block? Time will tell.

Also Federer will most likely be back, Nadal will be confident, Thiem is motivated, and so many of the young generation players are starting to come into their own.

I still think that Djokovic has one more slam in him but things will become more and more difficult.

This will be an interesting thread in coming years...

Tennis before and after the plague.

I tend to believe Novak can win another 2-3 slams though. As long as he stops hitting girls, that is.

33 is 33, no getting around it. Fed lost Wimbledon 2014/15 and the USO 2015 to Novak when Fed was 33/34 and Novak was still in his 20's. Many Djokovic fans have endlessly slammed Roger in his old age, but the time's approaching where their guy starts to fall a cliff in terms of quality and results.

One thing is certain next year is going to be huge with Federer, Nadal and Djokovic battling it out as well as Thiem, Medvedev, Zverev, Tsitsipas...

and of course PCB

The point is he is 0 in 2 tries ever since play resumed.
Ok? He was defaulted at the USO where he was a huge favorite and lost to the King of clay in the RG final. Trying to say he is now going to have a mental block going forward, after finally losing a complete match for the 1st time this year is wishful thinking on your part.

For those who haven't noticed, Djokovic lost the 2 slams since the start of Covid-19 to Spanish players PCB and Nadal. I predict that he will lose at the AO to another Spanish player RBA. I always wanted to visit Spain such a beautiful country...

Exactly. Djokovic may not win another slam. For sure he will have good results but there's a big possibility that he will start only doing QF/SF/F but with no slam titles.

Even at the AO he almost lost to Thiem, but that was before the pandemic. Since play resumed he has failed in slams and it might start becoming a mental issue especially since time is running out to catch Fedal who are leading by a substantial 3 slams.

I think soon Djokovic fans will finally understand that when Federer lost at Wimbledon 2014/2015, USO 2015 and other matches, his age was a big factor. They will experience it next year with their favorite player.

"Djokovic has a lot of pressure at the AO next year because so far he hasn’t won a slam since the pandemic."

Is the pressure any different than if he went the same amount of time without a major without a pandemic? Are you predicting more Slam cancellations, thus that's why there's more pressure - because his opportunities to tie or eclipse Fed and Nadal will be diminished?

Well, Djokovic had won 5 of the last 7, so to go an entire year in between titles (assuming he gets another one at AO21, not a done deal), is a pretty big gap and he's only getting older.

Right. I was just trying to figure out OP's pandemic angle - all that would be true even without a pandemic.

Since play resumed:

USO & FO: Djokovic won 0 in 2 tries (0%) with a 9-2 record (81%)

Cincy & Rome:
Djokovic won 2 in 2 tries (100%) with a 10-0 record (100%)

Things have changed, Djokovic is not the same player in slams anymore and that's why he is grumpy and agitated all-the time. He feels too much pressure in slams, but he is doing great in the other tournaments. Those stats are not a coincidence.

I don't see any masks. This is pre-pandemic and has nothing to do with this thread.
Just having fun. The thread is just trolling but I guess we can bookmark it to add to the long list of threads to be bumped next time Novak wins a slam

I did say that he may win 1 more but that it will be difficult. We will see.

Dude, there have been a million of these “Novak ain’t winning anymore” threads but I’ll try to remember this one when it’s time for the next big bump

He still missed two golden chances to add to his total though.

Its already started. I spotted it in Cinci and posted threads on it. Djokovic fans disagreed but the evidence is clear as a bell

Another great thread. I said in Cinci that Djokovic is vulnerable in best of 5 and that table illustrates it.
