Had a look to see how many slams players won before they hit 40 years of age. Some interesting numbers.

Djokovic = 24 slams
Nadal = 22 slams
Federer = 20 slams
Sampras = 14 slams
Emerson = 12 slams
Laver = 11 slams
Borg = 11 slams
Connors = 8 slams
Agassi = 8 slams
Lendl = 8 slams
Rosewell = 8 slams
McEnroe = 7 slams

So you assume Djokovic won't make it to 25. :)
 
Sampras and Nadal are evergreens. Won at least a major in their teens, twenties and thirties. Hope Carlitos will join this group

Ever since Nadal got the slam record, Slams suddenly werent the sole criteria for GOAT. Djokovic has the slam record but if you note, those who proclaim him as GOAT tend to talk about his non slam achievements a lot more. There is a reason for this, and that is the sight of Nadal 2nd on that list the OP posted is a real killer blow to many within the game who despise players who do well on clay.

  • Mats Wilander = 2
  • Boris Becker = 2
  • Stefan Edberg = 1
  • Michael Chang = 1
  • Pete Sampras = 1
  • Rafael Nadal = 1
  • Carlos Alcaraz = 1
Before hitting 30:
  • Roger Federer = 16
  • Rafael Nadal = 14
  • Pete Sampras = 13
  • Novak Djokovic = 12
  • Bjorn Borg = 11
  • Ivan Lendl = 8
  • Mats Wilander = 7
  • John McEnroe = 7
 
In the end only losers count up to a certain age and say nothing else matters..

Only final stats matter. Unless some loser talking

Rosewall= 8 slams, despite being barred for 11 years while on pro tour. Laver was barred for 5 years.

He wasn’t barred; he made the choice that caused him to be barred, fully aware of how the rules worked. If those rules were unfair, that’s a separate issue altogether.

Unfortunately, this brings to mind another exhausting debate we had not too long ago about a different player who also made his own choices.
 
I'm trying to confirm the following amazing statistical oddity, yet it appears to be true.

In the Open Era, every player who had racked up double-digit slams by age 40, finished with at least 10 slams.
