Sleeveless muscle shirts just look …unprofessional to me in a tennis tournament.

Thin straps are fine, although yes it becomes a bit of a musclehead look

The worst tanks are tight, with tight necks and tight armholes.

This is probably the worst example I have seen:

as a fan of those two guys and that era, this was bad. but those compression tanks were coming on big then but as an undergarment. idk why they wore it as a main shirt

UA isn't in the tennis market, and I'm pretty sure Colton Smith just gets things off the rack as he's still got the remnants of the plastic hangtag on top of his adidas hat, with a KSwiss wristband and a standard UA sleeveless shirt you can get anywhere. I hope he gets a clothing contract soon.

If you go to a 15K Futures tournament it's not uncommon to see some players with a different logo on everything they have on (although not necessarily sleeveless)--odd to see it in a main tour event.

some designs, on some guys, look really good. Particularly if they have the guns. But skinny straps are very wife-beater..a no-no. Rafa had it going with the sleeveless tops and short shorts, in pastel colors of all things

Reminds me of the high zipper neck with no sleeves that is apparently farshon - so your neck’s cold but your arms are fine?
Yeah man everything just sucks

In hot weather the collar keeps sun off your neck but not your shoulders and arms

Yeah why would any woman want that, so dumb!

Wasn’t actually talking about tennis wear more referencing casual wear for colder weather, hence the comment about cold arms.
In hot weather if folks want to burn or tan their shoulders or arms, that’s up to them, but they should be aware of the skin cancer risk; just because folks have olive skin & don’t necessarily burn they’re still vulnerable, especially cumulatively.

I got my first sleeveless tennis shirt ever. Still, no big side cuts, it looks classy. I just want my shoulders to tan more evenly, but I'm just not ready to play topless in practice. Stil, the sleeveless shirt will only be for tranining, not competition.

I love it. Considering all the shoulder rotation required in tennis, sleeveless shirts make sense. I just feel it allows for better arm freedom and cooling especially when things become sweaty. I've always been a sleeveless shirt guy because it just feels better so not surprised a lot of pros are going this route.
