in a way this seems strange, but i bet many of you will say it isn't strange.

but i think lobs are a huge leak in my game..... my opponents seems to lob me very well and i can't lob back very well........

i am only asking for advice on my own lobbing though, as i think i have an idea what needs to be done for my overheads (whether it will work is another story).

seems like i try to do my lobs too much like a soft forehand or backhand that goes up and my lobs almost always end up short (could hit it harder but i seem to have mental block or bad technique) .... but when you have decent time but not enough time or good enough position for topspin lob (which i can hit), do you want to flat, slight topspin or slight-moderate backspin (chop)??

i haven't checked the web for advice.... i probably will but was curious for people's advice/comments here..... seems so simple but i am completely awful at this part of my game (other parts too, but that's a long story LOL).
i've never read too

close a little bit the racket face, this will allow you to execute topspin lobs. the low-high swing should be quite aggressive.

you can practice these by yourself. make the drop, and attack the ball at various heights and distances from yourself.

marius, i CAN hit topspin lobs if the ball is quite high and i'm a little bit in the court (or at least not way back).... but everything else seems to come up short and i think i may have mental block due to poor technique.

do you have links to discussions about lob or instructional stuff from internet?? seems SO SIMPLE that there isn't that much stuff, but the lob seems to a key shot for alot of good 4.0's i know (or they do better than their "athletic ability"?

relax your wrist, get under the ball, and execute a lashing shot with a lot of flexibility using your legs too.

marius, thanks for your help..... it's very frustrating when you think you've got to the point of a partial mental block (or huge deceleration into the ball)..... lob is such a mainstay of a fair number of good 4.0 guys i know.
